Telstra is hit by a major outage affecting mobile customers across Australia
- Customers cannot make or receive calls
- Telco giant cannot say when the problem will be resolved
Thousands of Telstra customers across Australia are still unable to make or receive calls following a major network outage.
Frustrated customers are still experiencing calling and texting issues hours after the outage Tuesday morning.
According to Down Detector, a deluge of incident reports came in late Monday evening.
Calls to triple-0 and mobile data are not affected by the outage.
Telstra has apologized for the inconvenience caused, but cannot say when the problem will be fixed.
“If you’re having trouble calling on your mobile this morning, we’re working urgently to fix it. We’re sorry to ruin the start of your day,” Telstra tweeted in its latest update.
“Turning Airplane Mode on or off may resolve the issue for some customers.”
‘Calling via Wi-Fi Calling or via apps such as FaceTime or Messenger should still work
