Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Telangana polling station to address a public gathering during the BJP’s Jana Garjana rally on November 25, a Deccan Chronicle (DC) report said. Prime Minister Modi is likely to attend rallies to be held in Karimnagar and Nirmal. The Prime Minister will also take part in a roadshow on November 27, a day before the end of the campaign for the elections scheduled for November 30.
Other senior leaders of the Bhartiya Janta Party will also visit Telangana to give the BJP a stronger boost in the state. Among the leaders likely to visit the state are Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Ahead of the Telangana Assembly elections, leaders of different parties are switching sides. In a recent turn of events, former MLA of the ruling Bharat Rashtra Smith (BRS), Prem Singh Rathore joined the BJP in the presence of state BJP president G Kishan Reddy.
There are three major players in Telangana elections including BRS, BJP and Congress. Though the BRS has ruled the state for the past nine years since its inception in 2014, the Congress is leaving no stone unturned to regain power in the state.
To this end, Congress has promised several benefits to voters such as LPG cylinders for Rs 500 for eligible families. To counter this, the ruling BRS has also mentioned similar plans in its party manifesto.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on October 9 announced the election manifesto for the five voting states: Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. The elections in Telangana will be held on November 30 and the results will be declared. will be announced on December 3.
