Tekken 8 director says your “silly threats” won’t help get your favorite character on the list
Tek 8 Director Katsuhiro Harada has revealed that the “silly threats” sent to him and other members of the Tekken 8 development team by some alleged fans are having a significant impact not only on morale, but also on costs and even the inclusion of some characters.
The news came via a lengthy Twitter thread in which Harada shared an example of a “silly” threat in which the player said that if Eddy wasn’t included in Teck 8‘s lineup, he would “hit (Harada) with a flaming hammer”. The player even tagged Harada in the reply.
Harada revealed that even jokes can be problematic, causing “everyone (in the fighting game community) to suffer the following losses”.
Referring to the example he included, Harada said: “The event organizer overreacts and increases security, which increases operating costs and increases the burden on the players attending the event. ask to cancel my event.” participation in the event.”
But that is not everything. Harada went on to add that “founders, board members and lawyers don’t like to be intimidated,” so when they get threats — “jokingly” or otherwise — they even ask Harada to remove characters or features from the game, even if he feels that they “should have been included in the game in the first place”.
Harada says this is more likely to happen if “the person making these threats uses the word ‘we’ instead of ‘me’ to represent the fans”.
“A lot of them don’t understand this. I don’t follow the opinion of those who use ‘we’ when expressing their opinion. It’s up to the development team to decide whether the opinion is a majority or a minority, and the person who has the opinion says: ‘Everyone around me says so!’ (maximum 5-6 people around me) is irrelevant.
“Behaving outrageously, repeating these words and actions, or false information and hoaxes, or threats, will quickly decrease the motivation of the development staff, and as a result, the requests of enthusiasts will fall far short of being realized,” concluded he. .

Did you know six unannounced characters from Tekken 8′s roster were leaked during the closed network tests? While the first Teck 8 CNT was exclusive to PS5 owners, another test – this time open to players on Steam – gave dataminers the ability to use a tool called Cheat Engine.

Thanks to Cheat Engine, PC players could download the copy of Teck 8 and scrub its memory and data for unannounced content.
