Two teenagers, aged 14 and 16, have been arrested after allegedly leading police at speeds of up to 200 km/h in a stolen white BMW through suburban streets.

A terrifying vision of the luxury car was captured on dashcam and by police helicopter in Sydney’s northwest on Tuesday as it forced its way off the road between traffic and oncoming cars.

The drivers were only apprehended after driving through bushland and ending up in a shopping center parking lot near Schofields.

The duo were handcuffed after they were found at a downtown Coles supermarket, where police claimed they hid from officers by trying to blend in with the shoppers.

A center employee, Chevy McGrath, said: 7Newsthe boys ‘knew their number had run out’.

It is feared that the incident is part of a trend where young people are inviting high-speed police chases so they can post their exploits on social media.

The chase began at 4 a.m. when the boys allegedly entered a home of a family with young children in Rouse Hill to grab keys before stealing the BMW.

After the car’s owner, Shane Morgan, spotted the intruders on CCTV, reported the alleged theft at 8 a.m.

When they discovered the vehicle at Schofields, officers chased it in an attempt to stop the driver in Vineyard 7 km away.

A police helicopter was then used to continue the chase after the chase became too dangerous, with the driver reportedly swinging up and off the road while narrowly dodging oncoming vehicles.

Morgan, who was able to help police by following the car at speeds of 200 km/h, described the couple’s actions as “disgusting.”

“There are no words for it… it was ridiculous the speeds they went – it’s a miracle no one was killed,” he said. 7News.

Polar kept an eye on the car as it reportedly drove through streets, with the driver trying to hide in bushland and nearly ran over pedestrians.

The vehicle was then left at the exit of an underground parking garage of the mall.

The car was seen driving into a shopping center in Schofields (pictured) before the occupants fled on foot, police arrested them at 9:20 a.m. at a shop in Coles.

The teens then fled on foot and entered Coles’s store at 9:20 a.m., where police arrested them.

According to the police, officers have called in the help of the dog department, public order, riot police and the local police to track them down.

Both teens face a series of charges related to the alleged theft of the car and the chase.

The couple were refused bail on Wednesday to appear in children’s court.

Authorities are investigating whether anyone else is involved in the alleged car theft as the vehicle undergoes forensic examination.
