A Sydney teenager has been arrested after allegedly breaking into a school and stealing $21,000 worth of electronic tablets before breaking into a sports club and stealing nearly $700 worth of alcohol.

The 16-year-old boy was charged by NSW Police with two counts of aggravated trespassing and company entry and robbery.

The teenager and another child are alleged to have broken into a school on Menin Road, Matraville, at around 5am on December 19.

Police say the couple took 28 new electronic tablets that were valued at $21,000 in total.

Officers with the Eastern Beaches Area Police Command went to the school after the theft was reported and launched an investigation.

The same teenager, along with two other children, allegedly forced their way into a sports club on Claremont Avenue, Concord on December 27, just over a week after the alleged break-in at the school.

Police say the trio stole almost $700 worth of alcohol from inside the venue.

Burwood Police Area Command officers began investigations after the incident was reported.

The police investigation led officers to an address in Five Dock.

Police raided a house on William Street around 12:30 p.m. Thursday and arrested the teen.

He was taken to Burwood Police Station and charged.

The teen was denied bail and faced children’s court on Thursday.

The police investigation is ongoing, with officers searching for the remaining suspected criminals involved.
