Teenager dies in freak accident after routine toileting on the side of the road

A New Zealand teenager has died after losing his balance and falling into a stream while stopping to use the toilet during a road trip.
Cameron Cumming, 19, was traveling with friends when they stopped in the dark along Tairua Whitianga Rd in Coromandel on the North Island, on New Zealand Herald reports.

It is understood that the teen lost his footing and fell into the nearby stream that runs directly alongside the road.
The incident occurred at 2:40 am on Thursday, January 19.
Cumming was found with a ‘big cut to his head in the water’ after the ‘unfair [and] tragic accident.’
He had been working in construction before his tragic death.
Her employer, Gene Bryant, told her things.co.nz he was like a ‘second son’ to them.
“I’m still in shock after the news,” Bryant said.
‘[I’m] I keep trying to call your phone and waiting for you to answer as usual.
‘[I’m} proud of who you had become. You still had a lot to give and a lot to learn.’
