Two teenage girls have been photographed on the roof of a building on a busy city street “smoking a hookah” and harassing passers-by.

The pair were pictured at around 4pm on Thursday afternoon sitting atop the Chemist Warehouse in Chatswood Mall, northern Sydney, as shocked pedestrians watched.

The teens sat with their legs dangling over the edge of the multistory pharmacy, unafraid of people seeing them.

According to an onlooker, the girls threw objects at pedestrians below to get their attention.

One image shows one of the girls smoking the bong, while the other shields the flame of a lighter from the wind.

Another image shows one of the girls posing for a photo, giving a thumbs up to the camera while holding the bong to her lips.

The Chemist Warehouse store is in a busy shopping center in the heart of Chatswood with market stalls just below.

“The two were just sitting there smoking a bong,” an onlooker told Daily Mail Australia.

“They (the teenage girls) waved to people in the street.

“They just weren’t bothered by the attention or being photographed.”

Another pedestrian said they alerted the police but were confused about ‘why it took so long’.

“I’m not even sure if they (the police) came,” they said.

The girls would have been on the roof for about half an hour before they left.

The pharmacy roof appears to be easily accessible with graffiti covering much of the building.

A NSW Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia that ‘the investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident is continuing’.
