Teen Mom: The Next Chapter: Jenelle Evans explores ‘This Time of the Day’ cannabis brand based on infamous quote during trip to Las Vegas

Jenelle Evans flew to Las Vegas to see if she can start her own marijuana business on Thursday’s episode of MTV’s Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.

β€œI’m so happy to be out of North Carolina now,” Jenelle, 32, told her manager August Keen, who had met her and was already living in Vegas.

β€œI think so,” said August.

“I’ve been dealing with a lot,” Jenelle said. “There’s already lawsuits going on, the restraining order, and then the David and Jace thing.”

Jenelle was fired from Teen Mom 2 after her estranged husband David Eason shot and killed their dog Nugget in April 2019. Earlier this season, she revealed that she was filing for a restraining order against David, who was accused of child abuse for allegedly strangling her son Jace, 14.

August said he got this opportunity through an old business partner of his, a grower in the cannabis industry.

β€œI know you’ve always wanted to have your own cannabis line,” August said.

“I always wanted to launch a marijuana brand because I smoked when I was younger,” Jenelle said. “It helps me medically and mentally.”

Jenelle said she wanted to get started herself and test every product.

β€œI’m just glad David’s not an obstacle anymore,” Jenelle said.

“Because he kept you out of a lot of deals,” August said. “You can go back to being a businesswoman.”

Jenelle said she got a call from the lender about the dirt bike.

“I feel like I’m enabling him by paying for it, but there’s nothing I can do about it. My name is on the loan,” Jenelle said.

β€œThat’s not cool,” August said.

Jenelle said she needed a fresh start.

β€œI may never be able to cut ties with David because we have a child together, but you have to set boundaries,” Jenelle said in a confessional.

Adriana, COO of GreenMed Wellness, came by to meet them, telling them they were the only black-owned dispensaries and that they were also launching a brand for Whoopi Goldberg before asking Jenelle why she wanted to be a part of the cannabis community.

“A long time ago, when I was 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom, my mom and I were arguing and I was like, ‘This is the time of day. I want to smoke,’ and that resonated with everyone,” Jenelle said. “That one scene, I was like, ‘I need to do something with this that involves weed,’ and I thought the best thing would be to start a brand called This Time of the Day.”

β€œI think this is a great moment to show who you are and who you want to be,” Adriana said.

β€œThe future of this is going to be amazing,” said Jenelle, who also expressed a desire to take away the shame surrounding mothers who smoke marijuana.

Jenelle said she wanted to launch a ready-made pack of cigarettes first and then expand from there.

The season two episode, titled β€œViva Las Vegas,” opened with Jade Cline, 27, in her Indiana home with her husband Sean Austin, as they tried to homeschool their daughter, Kloie. She was also happy to have just gotten her real estate license.

“Now I do a little bit of everything,” Jade said. “I homeschool Kloie, still run my salon, and now I do real estate.”

They later took Kloie to take an assessment for a private school. A few days after the assessment, they found out that Kloie had passed the test “with flying colors.”

Meanwhile, Catelynn Baltierra, 32, was at her Michigan home with her daughters Rya, Vaeda and Nova and her husband Tyler, 32. They discussed Vaeda’s development and how she seemed uncomfortable in noisy environments and how her teachers had recommended a special IEP evaluation for her.

Later they went to see what Vaeda’s grade was. Catelynn started crying and said she just didn’t want her daughter to have a hard time.

β€œI think that’s normal, you’re a mother who cares about her,” Tyler said.

“We met at Vaeda’s school, and we met her speech therapist, the principal, her teacher, and then another lady, and then another lady who does evaluations for sensory issues,” Catelynn said in a confessional. “We found out that Vaeda has a hard time with loud noises, that she wants to move or fidget.”

Catelynn said that with her daughter it comes out with anger and screaming. She thought about making a calm center for her in the room and making her feel special. Vaeda was excited when she saw it.

β€œI want her to feel good, to be okay, and to be OK,” Catelynn said.

Briana DeJesus, 30, revealed that she had just found out that her mother had long struggled with drug addiction and had checked herself into rehab. She said she had learned that her mother had a history of heroin addiction and was now on methadone.

“It’s just so shocking to me,” Briana said. “I feel like I’m going to a really dark place.”

Briana met her sister at her mother’s house to help clean up. She asked her sister if she would do Al-Anon with her and she agreed. After their first session, Briana said she needed to educate herself more.

β€œLet’s just wait and see what happens,” Briana said, laying her head on the counter.

Mackenzie McKee, 29, headed to the beach with her three kids and boyfriend Khesanio. Khesanio’s mom Angie was coming to town and Mackenzie was nervous about having her, but she ended up fitting in perfectly with the family.

β€œDo you see Mackenzie as your future wife?” Angie asked him as they sat together at lunch.

β€œI can definitely see it,” Khesanio said. β€œI have no doubts.”

He said they were both doing their lives over. He said he didn’t know when he was going to do it. Angie told him he had to do it fast.

Mackenzie made tea for Angie.

β€œIf you make Khes happy, you’re both happy and I’m happy too,” Angie said.

β€œThank you,” Mackenzie said.

Mackenzie said in a confessional that she was very happy that Angie agreed to become the children’s grandmother. Khesanio secretly took his mother to look for an engagement ring.
