Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans files to SEPARATE from husband David Eason over alleged ‘substance abuse’ and ‘refusal to work’… after he was kicked out of the house
Former Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans is reportedly divorcing her husband David Eason.
The controversial 32-year-old reality star has filed for legal separation from Eason in court. The sun reported on Monday.
The move comes days after Jenelle reportedly kicked Eason out of her family home.
In her documents, Evans attributed the divorce to Eason’s recent “erratic behavior,” while also claiming he suffered from “substance abuse.”
The filing was filed with the court on January 23, and the former MTV competition said the two officially separated on February 16, and that their intention was for “the separation to be permanent.”
Former Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans, 32, has filed for legal separation from husband David Eason in court, The Sun reported Monday
In her documents, Evans attributed the divorce to Eason’s recent “erratic behavior,” “substance abuse” and “refusal to work”
In the filing, Evans alleged that Eason refused to work to support their family while spending her money excessively.
She also says that he had a “criminal conversation” with his ex-wife via text messages.
Evans’ filing reportedly references Eason’s alleged attack on her son Jace, 14.
Eason was charged with child molestation and strangulation after Jace told doctors his stepfather abused him after he tried to run away.
The alleged attack allegedly took place at an acquaintance’s home and was captured on video by a Ring doorbell camera.
Following the alleged abuse, a CPS investigation into the couple was also launched, although Jenelle has said it was closed.
Eason’s killing of the couple’s French Bulldog Nugget in 2019.
After Evans initially called the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office to report that her husband had shot their dog, she subsequently claimed that she had not seen the shooting nor had she seen any evidence that the dog was actually dead.
That led police to close the investigation into the murder, with Eason months later admitting to shooting the small dog, which he claimed had bitten their daughter Ensley Jolie, who was two at the time.
Evans also writes that Eason spent her money excessively, and she accused him of having “criminal conversations” via text message with his ex-wife; seen in 2017 in Inglewood, California.
Evans claimed her estranged husband had to get on their boat because of a restraining order against her son Jace, who he allegedly assaulted. She claimed that he had since spent his days drinking at a bar; seen in 2019 in NYC
“Throughout the duration of the parties’ marriage, the defendant has exhibited troubling and at times disturbing behavior toward the plaintiff,” Evans wrote.
“In May 2019, the defendant shot and killed the family pet, French Bulldog Nugget, in front of the minor child,” she said, referring to Ensley, who is now seven.
She added that, as a result of the shooting, “the Columbus County Department of Child Services, DSS initiated proceedings against the parties and took the aforementioned minor children into custody.”
She claimed that Eason’s daughter Maryssa was also taken into custody by DSS after the shooting.
Evans went on to reference Eason’s alleged attack on her son Jace.
“On or about September 28, 2023, a report was made to medical professionals by the plaintiff’s eldest minor child,” she wrote.
She added that her estranged husband was “subsequently charged with child abuse and assault by strangulation” after police investigated.
Despite the pending criminal charges, she said DSS filed a “notice of involuntary discharge in Columbus County.”
Despite the end of that investigation, Eason is not allowed to be near her son Jace while his charges remain unsolved.
“Despite the voluntary dismissal of the underlying DSS proceedings, the suspect’s criminal case is still pending and the suspect is subject to various no-contact provisions in the aforementioned criminal case,” she continued.
“Since the DSS case was voluntarily dismissed and primary physical custody of (Jace) reverted to the plaintiff, the defendant left the former marital home at the plaintiff’s insistence so that (Jace) moved with the plaintiff and his siblings to home was able to return,” Evans said. .
The reality star claimed that Eason did not contact her to see how she was doing, nor did he check in with his daughter Ensley while he was getting on her boat, which is docked at a nearby marina.
Despite his orders not to make contact, Eason allegedly visited their home on February 22. She claimed he took her car without permission and “told her to kill herself.”
“Plaintiff spent his days drinking liquor at a bar near the marina,” she alleged.
Evans also alleged that her estranged husband refused to give her the key to their home’s mailbox while preventing her from picking up medications for Jace that had been shipped to the home, “putting the minor child at risk for adverse health effects.”
Despite earlier reports that she had also kicked out Eason’s daughter Maryssa, 16, she slammed him for leaving his daughter with her.
She alleged that he “did not develop a plan to ensure that both of his biological minor children were cared for and failed to provide Plaintiff with any support or assistance with the minor children during this period,” and she alleged that Maryssa kept the household had to leave so she could focus her care on her son Jace after he was allegedly attacked by Eason.
Despite his no-contact order, Eason reportedly visited their home on February 22, the day before the application was filed with the court.
“For the purpose of harassing or annoying Plaintiff, Defendant took Plaintiff’s vehicle without her consent and instructed her to commit suicide, among other vile insults, with Plaintiff filming the interaction for her safety,” she alleged.
Her son Jace “was home, but not present during the defendant’s show,” she added.
The Sun notes that couples must be separated for a year before filing for divorce.
She urged a judge overseeing the case to make the divorce permanent, saying Eason’s alleged “excessive drinking was burdensome and made life unbearable for the plaintiff.”
“Defendant regularly drank while intoxicated and spent too much money on alcohol – money that he does not earn and that could otherwise go to the financial well-being of the minor children,” she alleged.
Evans described an environment in which her estranged husband would insult and humiliate her in front of their children and others.
Several of the incidents referenced by the reality star happened or started several years ago, but she claimed Eason’s actions significantly tarnished her public reputation.
“Plaintiff has been a faithful and dutiful wife to Defendant and has stood by Defendant through the criticism of millions of people around the world on social media, who expressed concern about Defendant’s conduct,” she wrote. “Defendant’s conduct has imposed plaintiff’s workers’ comp damages and tarnished her public image.”
She primarily seeks physical custody of their daughter Ensley, as well as child support payments from her unemployed, estranged husband.
Evans requested an “unequal division” of the property, apparently referring to the fact that she is the only working member of the family.
This desired division would include keeping the parental home.
Eason appeared to dispute that request, as she claimed that “Defendant has made several representations that Plaintiff cannot keep him from ‘his’ home.”
