A furious mother has called for an overhaul to youth justice laws after her 15-year-old daughter was brutally bashed in a planned assault that was filmed and uploaded to social media.
The sickening footage shows the moment the teen is set upon by another high school student at Beenleigh train station in Logan in south-east Queensland.
After being taunted about something said in ‘English class’, a girl in a school uniform still wearing her backpack rains down savage blows on the victim as onlookers standby and film.
Neither party can be named for legal reasons.
The beaten schoolgirl was taken to taken to Logan Hospital, where she was treated for concussion, swelling and cuts.

‘It was quite confronting and disgusting and you know to be a parent and think your child can go on public transport and has always gone on public transport,’ the girl’s mother told Nine News.
‘It just makes you sick to the guts.’
When the woman gave a statement to police she said officers assured her they would ‘throw the book’ at the assailant and accomplices.
However, the offender was just given a warning and no charges were laid.
Queensland Police said they investigated the incident and issued a warning, which is in keeping with the ‘diversion first’ approach of the state’s Youth Justice Act.
The mother said this was not sufficient justice and she believed an adult would have been charged.

The victim’s mother has called for a change to juvenile justice laws that saw her daughter’s alleged attackers receive only a warning with no charges being laid
‘That there would be justice served and it turned out (with) the juvenile system it’s just a caution,’ she said.
‘As a parent it’s hard to comprehend that someone could do such an act of violence and that’s all they get’
The mother maintained a warning was not enough of a deterrent to stop such acts from happening again.
‘The next person might not be so lucky and that’s what needs to stop: all these one-punches, all this assaulting people. There’s no need for it,’ the mum said.
She said the incident would have lasting effects on her family.
‘Physical scars heal but emotional ones don’t and there’s no timeline,’ she said.
‘This could be with me forever and it’s definitely impacted me as a parent.’
