Teen driver, 17, dies in fiery M5 Motorway blaze at Revesby after his car struck a guardrail and caused a blaze in nearby grass and trees
A teenager has died in a horrific crash after his car struck a guardrail on a major highway before the vehicle burst into flames.
The 17-year-old boy was driving along the M5 highway near Revesby in Sydney's south-west before losing control of the car about 11.30pm on Friday.
The Mitsubishi Evo crashed into the highway barrier before the sedan burst into flames on impact.
Paramedics rushed to the scene, but the boy could not be saved.
There were no passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The horrific collision set nearby grass and trees on fire before firefighters from the NSW Rural Fire Service arrived to extinguish the flames.
NSW Police set up a crime scene and closed the eastbound lanes of the highway following the incident.
A report is expected to be prepared for the coroner as the investigation into the fatal crash continues.
Police are calling on anyone with information or dashcam footage of the accident to come forward.
The teenager's death comes after another man was killed in a motorcycle crash in a separate incident about an hour later in the state's north on Saturday.

Police were called to Haussman Driver, near Thornton, about 16 miles west of Newcastle, at around 12.30am after reports of a single vehicle crash.
The 26-year-old man died on the spot after he lost control of his bicycle while approaching a bend in the road.
He was thrown from the motorcycle before hitting a tree.
Police have determined a foul play was committed and are still investigating the accident.
