Teen discovers horrific scene after returning to sound of mom ‘screaming’ inside quaint NY home
A teenager who came home to find his mother stabbed to death told how he desperately tried to fight off her attacker to no avail.
Wioleta Murawski was fatally stabbed by her husband Ryszard Murawski, 44, in the backyard of their Long Island home.
He pleaded guilty to the January murder on Tuesday and now faces up to 22 years in prison.
The couple’s 15-year-old son told police he came home from a friend’s house and heard his mother “screaming for help.”
As he walked onto the property, he saw his father pointing the serrated weapon at his mother.

He rushed at him and jumped on his back, allowing his mother to free herself.
She managed to cross the street before collapsing with her son by her side. She was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where she later died.
Meanwhile, Murawski jumped into a black GMC pickup truck and fled the scene.
Police tried to arrest him, but instead he went on a wild chase for over seven miles, eventually losing control of the car and crashing into the side of a building.
They added that the brutal attack was captured on the couple’s home surveillance system.
“This is a tragic case of domestic violence that ended with the senseless death of Wioleta Murawski and a terrible trauma for their child. This defendant will now pay for his actions in prison,” said U.S. District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney.

Her loved ones paid tribute to the “wonderful” mother of two, praising her as someone “who touched the lives of many”.

“Wioleta dedicated her life to raising her sons and giving them a better future,” a GoFundMe campaign said.
“She was an outgoing person who gave the best of herself. She was a great friend who always helped without expecting anything in return.”
The fundraiser hoped to raise enough money for a memorial service and to return her remains to Poland, as well as therapy for her children.
Murawski pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, a class A felony, before Judge Karen M. Wilutis.
He is due back in court on October 17 to hear his sentence.
