A teenage girl has died after becoming trapped under a LRV in Sydney’s CBD.
Emergency services were called to George Street, Haymarket around midnight after reports of a 16-year-old pedestrian on the rails under a carriage suffering critical injuries.
Police Rescue and Fire & Rescue NSW officers worked frantically to free the girl from the tracks.
She was treated at the scene, but could not be brought back to life, despite desperate efforts by paramedics to save her.

The male tram driver, 52, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Police have cordoned off a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
There are currently no light rail services running between Central and Circular Quay on Thursday mornings.
