Teddi Mellencamp horse trainer’s wife files for DIVORCE after reality star’s alleged bombshell affair

Teddi Mellencamp is said to have had an affair with her horse trainer Simon Schroeder, and now his wife Karli has officially filed for divorce.

The RHOBH alum, 43, announced her divorce from her husband of 13 years, Edwin Arroyave, last month on November 2.

And shortly afterwards, a source claimed to DailyMail.com that her infidelity with Schroeder had been the catalyst behind her shock split from Arroyave – with whom she shares three children.

Nearly two months after news of Teddi and Edwin’s divorce came to light, as well as the affair scandal, Simon Schroeder’s wife has now taken the step of filing for divorce, according to documents obtained by We weekly.

Karli — who was pregnant with their second child at the time of the alleged infidelity — filed paperwork in Los Angeles County on Monday, December 30.

She cited irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the split, with their wedding date set for April 14, 2024. The mother of two additionally listed their divorce date as September 22, 2024.

Karli and Simon were previously married before it was annulled in February this year. But two months later they said yes again.

According to the outlet, she is requesting primary physical custody and joint legal custody of their children: Lena, three, and seven-month-old Henry.

Schroeder’s wife has also asked for spousal support and for Simon to pay her attorney fees.

It comes after Teddi also announced her split from Edwin Arroyave, who she tied the knot with in 2011.

The former couple have three children: Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, four. After her marriage, Mellencamp also became stepmother to Edwin’s other daughter, Isabella, 15, from a previous relationship.

On November 2, she took to her main Instagram page and wrote to her fans and followers, “After much care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce.”

“My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken for their privacy and well-being during this new chapter.”

Teddi added: ‘Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do, but in an effort to protect my family from unnecessary speculation and rumours, I felt that being open, honest and vulnerable was the best way forward.’

Just a week before the divorce announcement, Edwin posted a heartfelt tribute to Teddi after they attended the Cure Melanoma gala together.

On November 1, Mellencamp officially filed for divorce and named the date of separation as October 20. She also requested primary legal and physical custody of their children.

Edwin also filed for divorce and on his end, he listed the date of separation as November 1 and asked for joint legal and physical custody of their children.

Also last month, a source claimed to DailyMail.com that Teddi’s months-long affair with Simon had been a reason for her divorce from Arroyave.

Mellencamp and Schroeder’s alleged cheating scandal took place behind their husband’s back.

The horse trainer was married to Karli at the time the affair took place. While Karli was in California giving birth to her second child, Simon had been in Florida with Teddi.

“Karli found it suspicious that her husband was in Florida when she was in labor,” the insider said.

‘When Simon returned, Karli found text messages on Simon’s phone that exposed the affair. She confronted Simon and Teddi about it and they confessed. Teddi promised it wouldn’t happen again.’

The source added: “Karli didn’t tell Edwin when she found out. She was willing to give Simon another chance and stayed with him. But last month, Karli found evidence that the affair was continuing and that it had become ’emotional.’

‘Simon had a history of cheating and Karli was tired of being associated with him. Edwin only learned of the affair at the end of last month when Karli told him.’

The insider then stated that Teddi “filed for divorce from Edwin so he wouldn’t have the opportunity to file and try her for adultery.”

‘It is said that the marriage ended because Edwin cheated on Teddi, but in reality it is the other way around.’

The Real Housewives alum — who has been open about her battle with skin cancer — broke her silence after news of the alleged cheating scandal emerged.

Along with a glamorous selfie, she added a cryptic caption that read, “When you’re pushed into the shadows, always find your light.”

And on her Instagram stories, she also posted a quote from Bruce Lee: “Don’t pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult life.”

Teddi once again broke her silence on her podcast Two T’s in a pod with Tamra Judge and said, “What I can say, and I try very hard to… there are multiple sides to every story.”

“I’m not going to confirm or deny anything,” the TV personality continued, adding that “there are a lot of people involved.”

“I’ll say again the same statement I said before: the children, they are the priority; For now that’s all I’m going to discuss about this. There are little kids involved, family members involved, you don’t want to throw other people under the bus.”

Amid the affair scandal, Mellencamp later shared on social media that she had “apologized for things” she had done “wrong.”

A day after the holiday, she paid a bizarre tribute to her estranged husband as she admitted she was “far from perfect.”

Not long before Christmas, Mellencamp was reunited with Simon Schroeder when her daughter Slate competed in an equestrian competition.

At one point, the horse trainer was seen with a big smile on his face as he watched Teddi take photos of her child.
