Ted Lasso fans rejoice as season four of hit show starring Jason Sudeikis and Hannah Waddingham is in the works

Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond may be getting a new season on Apple TV+.

According to TermHannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift and Brett Goldstein have agreed to return to the hit sitcom for a fourth season.

Waddingham played the role of Rebecca Welton, owner of AFC Richmond, Swift was her Director of Football Operations Leslie Higgins and Goldstein was player and coach Roy Kent.

Now Warner Brothers, which will produce the series, must secure contracts with creators and stars Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt, who play the American soccer coaches hired to coach the British footballers.

Juno Temple, who played influencer and marketer Keely Jones, is also reportedly on the list of actors the production is looking to bring on in a potential new project.

Assembling the rest of the team could be relatively simple, as the cast members have repeatedly stated that they would like to reprise their roles if given the chance.

The publication reports that the writers have already started working on the content of a new season.

At the end of season three, Sudeikis’ Lasso returned to his son and ex-wife in Kansas, while Hunt’s Coach Beard remained in the United Kingdom.

The show won 13 Primetime Emmy Awards during its successful run.

The ending of season three was never considered the series finale, leaving fans to dream of more adventure on the pitch, and that seems to be what they’ll get.

Sudeikis has kept a low profile since the season three finale.

The former Saturday Night Live host has done voice work for the TV series Hit-Monkey and the upcoming animated series Hit Pig and The Angry Birds Movie 3.

Waddingham has seen her career grow with roles in the summer hit The Fall Guy starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt.

Ted Lasso won 13 Primetime Emmys during the series’ three-season run.

She was also recently nominated for an Emmy for her voice work as the goddess Deliria in the animated film Krapopolis.

Goldstein, one of the writers and executive producers of Ted Lasso, is also one of the creative forces behind the Emmy-nominated Shrinking, starring Jason Segal and Harrison Ford.

The second season of Shrinking will be released on October 16.
