Tearful Teddi Mellencamp reveals her immunotherapy treatment for skin cancer has failed as the star faces further excision surgery

Teddi Mellencamp has revealed that the immunotherapy she has been taking since September 30 to treat her skin cancer has failed.

The 42-year-old RHOBH alum — who was that? diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in October 2022 – Aldara had imiquimod cream rubbed over the back of her right shoulder for five weeks, even increasing her dosage on October 23 and November 8.

The tearful star took to Instagram on Monday to update fans, saying: 'It wasn't successful. So I have two different options. I can do a large skin graft on my stomach or arm, but the recovery takes a very long time.

“Or I could go in and have another wide excision surgery on December 26 (to remove more of the problematic area). And a plastic surgeon will also come by, because it is such a large area.

“And then I'll continue to get my checks every three months. So that's where we are. Get your skin checked, people!'

Arroyave – who has 1.2 million followers on social media – clearly chose option No. 2, as did she announced Tuesday that she was on her way to have blood drawn for the operation.

“I don't like to go down and my fear disappears, but I have faith that everything will be fine and the reason this is happening to me is because I can raise awareness,” said the Melanoma ambassador Research Foundation. wrote on Tuesday.

'In the meantime, I'm so looking forward to spending Christmas with my loved ones and I hope this is a reminder to book your skin checks for the New Year.'

It comes a full year after Teddi wrongly believed her margins had been successfully cleared after 11 melanomas and three lymph nodes were surgically removed in October 2022.

But on January 19, Arroyave — who charges $99 on Cameo — had three new spots biopsied, and on September 13, one of her new spots turned out to be melanoma.

Fortunately, the All In accountability coach has her support and she has four children: daughter Dove, 3; daughter Slate, 11; son Cruz, 9; and stepdaughter Bella, 15 – from her 12-year marriage to Skyline Security CEO Edwin Arroyave.

Teddi – a self-proclaimed nepo baby – also has the support of her famous father, Grammy winner John Mellencamp.

Arroyave and Tamra Judge will bring their Two Ts In A Pod Live show to the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco on January 25.
