Tear-jerking moment woman dumps confused Labrador outside animal shelter

An Arizona animal shelter has asked for the community’s help in finding the “vicious” perpetrator who dumped her helpless Labrador in the shelter’s parking lot and drove away.

On Monday morning, a woman wearing a bright blue sweatshirt was seen dragging her dog on a leash through the parking lot of Pinal County Animal Care and Control.

The unidentified Florence, Arizona woman dumped her dog after being told the Casa Grande shelter was not open yet and she needed an appointment to surrender him, the animal shelter said.

When the woman tried to drive away in her black sedan, the startled animal chased the vehicle, endangering its life.

According to the shelter, he was crossing a busy road and was almost hit by a car.

When temporary workers discovered the images of the scared pet, they searched the area for him to bring him to safety.

At first they had no luck because the dog was “extremely scared,” the animal shelter explained.

But the next day they were ready to safely capture the puppy and bring it in. He will be available for adoption in a few days after he has had time to “unpack.”

“Right now he is very closed off and terrified,” the organization explained, adding that it is illegal to abandon animals in Arizona.

The Pinal County Animal Care and Control Center said they want “people to be held accountable for their cruelty to animals.”

Kim Powell of Maricopa County Animal Care and Control is not involved in the situation, but shared her perspective on pet abandonment.

She told me AZFamily: ‘It is emotionally difficult for the dog. You can sometimes see that when dogs are in the shelter, they get a little depressed, confused.

‘It happens more often than you would think. We come to work and there’s a dog tied to a post or a bench or something, and we don’t realize there’s a lawsuit.”

The Labrador puppy was abandoned just a day after a similar situation occurred in Colorado.

An unidentified woman walked into LOLA’s Rescue in Aurora on Sunday afternoon and carelessly threw a black pet carrier on the ground before walking away.

Camera images show how the bag containing the vulnerable dog falls over as soon as it hits the ground.

The manager of a LOLA discovered the stranded animal 30 minutes later and brought it to safety. When she watched the surveillance video, she was completely shocked.

She described her first reaction to the breathtaking sight.

“I was angry at first because I felt bad that someone could just throw a dog away,” manager Shani Lee said. KDVR.

Lee said that when she first saw the dog – which she believes is a terrier, beagle or dachshund mix – he was “very scared.”

The dog, who Lee named Gulliver, is on his way to recovering from his traumatizing venture.
