TEAMSHEET: Test yourself in Mail Sport’s football memory game… Newcastle thrashed Sheffield United 8-0 in 2023 when eight different stars scored, but can YOU remember who lined up for the Magpies that day?

Here we go… no, we’re not announcing the latest summer transfer, but Mail Sport’s call for the latest instalment of Teamsheet – our unique football memory game with a twist that gives you the chance to brag about your friends.

We hope you enjoyed this week’s challenge of naming various starting XIs from the Premier League era and we’re back at it again today (and every day). A reminder that we’ll give you a rough team formation and tell you how many letters each player’s name has, but you need to get the XI in as few tries as possible.

Each time you guess, a point is added to your score, meaning 11 is the PERFECT number. Once you’ve finished and shown your friends, family and colleagues how you did, you can choose a team and we’ll create a second Teamsheet for you.

You can play two matches per day and pick ANY club – from Chelsea to Brighton – that has played in the Premier League since 2006. Premier League matches from 1992-2006 will be available in the coming weeks.

Today we look back at a memorable day for Newcastle United, as they secured a stunning 8-0 win over Sheffield United in September 2023. Eight different players scored for Eddie Howe’s side, but can you remember who the Englishman fielded that day?

Good luck!

HOW TO PLAY

The aim of the game is to score as many points as possible few points as much as possible!

If you guess a player on the first try, you score one point – so the lowest score for guessing each player on first attempt is 11.

Guess a correct letter in the right position and it turns green. Guess a correct letter but in the wrong position and it turns yellow.

You have six guesses for each player. If you’re having trouble remembering a player, you can ask for a free letter, but that will cost you a point and a guess. And if you use all six guesses, we’ll tell you their name, but that will cost you 11 points.

So play on and see if you can get the highest possible score of 11, or fail every player and score 121.

You can play two games per day, so be sure to come back tomorrow.
