TEAMSHEET: Steven Gerrard’s infamous slip against Chelsea blew the title race wide open in 2014 and ultimately cost Liverpool – but which 10 stars joined the Reds icon in the starting line-up that day?

Another day, another Teamsheet… The original football memory game from Mail Sport that will test your football knowledge and is as exciting as it is frustrating.

Liverpool and Chelsea may not face each other until October this season as the rivals look to renew their friendship. Today, however, we take you back to one of the most iconic clashes between the teams in recent memory.

In 2014, under Brendan Rodgers, the Reds looked set to win their first ever Premier League title. Rodgers was on an 11-game winning streak before Chelsea arrived at Anfield with just three league games remaining.

The spirits among Liverpool fans were high, but disaster struck in first-half injury time when Steven Gerrard made an infamous slide and Demba Ba put the Blues ahead in one of the most precious moments in the battle for the top flight.

Willian made it 2-0 for Chelsea deep into injury time in the second half, dealing a blow to Rodgers’ side. They ultimately missed out on the title by two points to Manchester City. But can you remember the Liverpool team that day?

It’s just for fun, so see how you get on and share your Teamsheet score… Full instructions can be found at the bottom of the article and in the game itself. And come back tomorrow to play MailOnline’s latest Teamsheet from a memorable Premier League match.

Good luck!

After playing today’s main match, you will choose one Teamsheet from EVERY club that has played in the Premier League since it began in 2006. Premier League matches from 1992-2006 are scheduled for the coming weeks.

You can even limit your choice to a decade. So whether you want a Norwich City game from any of their eight seasons in the top flight, or a Brentford game from more recent years, let’s see what the Teamsheet generator has to offer.

HOW TO PLAY

The aim of the game is to score as many points as possible few points as much as possible!

If you guess a player on the first try, you score one point – so the lowest score for guessing each player on first attempt is 11.

Guess a correct letter in the right position and it turns green. Guess a correct letter but in the wrong position and it turns yellow.

You have six guesses for each player – and if you fail, we reveal their identity for 11 points! You can also ask for a free letter – but it will cost you one point

So play on and see if you can get the highest possible score of 11, or fail every player and score 121.
