The podium is ready, the stadium is ready, the Champions League trophy is polished and we are now less than 24 hours away from the pinnacle of European football.
Manchester City and Inter Milan take on each other in the Champions League final on Saturday evening and there is plenty at stake for both sides.
The talk of the week was about whether Pep Guardiola’s team can end their obsession and dream of winning European football’s greatest honour, which has eluded them for so long. Undoing the heartbreak of 2021 by finally capturing the Champions League, and with it a historic Treble, has a lot at stake for the Citizens on Saturday.
Likewise, Simone Inzaghi’s side are set to win their fourth European Cup and end a 13-year wait for a Champions League title, with their last coming in 2010 under Jose Mourinho.
As the sun sets in Istanbul on the eve of the final, Mail Sport’s Chris Sutton looks at how both teams can line up for the game.

Manchester City (4-3-2-1) – Team Average 8.8
Edson 9
Exceptional with his hands. Even better with his feet, as good as any midfielder. City feel safe with him in goal.
Kyle Walker 8.5
Not sulking when Guardiola questioned his tactical nous. Just fastened and got better. Looks indestructible now.
Reuben Dias 8
City can send Stones into midfield because Dias is such a solid defender. He can hold the fort alone.
Manuel Akanji 8.5
What a bargain at £15 million. Just look at his stats: 39 starts, 15 clean sheets, two trophies and maybe a third on Saturday.
John Stones 9.5
I enjoyed watching Stones in his hybrid role. Clearly has a brilliant football brain. Others would have struggled.
Rodry 9
Guardiola rejected his defensive midfielder in the 2021 Champions League final. He would not dare let Rodri fall now.
Bernardo Silva 8
The Portuguese playmaker has flirted with leaving City, although they are better off with him. Time for one last hurray, perhaps.
John Stones (right) has been fantastic for Man City this season, especially in their FA Cup final victory
Kevin De Bruyne spoke ahead of their training session about how City have ‘a chance to close a chapter’ by winning Saturday night’s game
Kevin De Bruyne8
City’s chief creative officer. Inter will be terrified of De Bruyne as he is capable of magic in a millisecond.
Ilkay Gundogan 9
The little man for the big games. Two goals in the FA Cup final wasn’t a bad way to warm up for an exciting evening in Istanbul.
Jack Greelish 9
Grealish didn’t start City’s most important games last season, but he will now. The 100 million pound man is ready for this final.

Meanwhile, Erling Haaland (left) has lit up the Premier League this season and his manager (right) today said he had ‘no doubts’ about the Norwegian’s goal-scoring ability.
Erling Haland 10
How could I give Haaland anything but an 10? He has made the Premier League look like an Under 10 division!
Pep Guardiola 9.5
Two trophies won, one more to go. I’ve given him a 9.5 but if City make it to Treble I’ll reconsider that score.
Inter Milan (3-5-2) – Team average 7.6
Andre Onana 7.5
Steady shot-stopper, but he needs to play the game of his life if he wants to shut City out.
Matthew Darmian 7
Former Manchester United full-back who can help protect his former club’s 1999 Treble legacy. There’s pressure.
Francesco Acerbi8
On loan from Lazio, Acerbi is an uncompromising and robust defender, albeit not the fastest in a footrace.
Inter Milan also trained at Ataturk Stadium on Friday ahead of the final
The players were flooded with water after the sprinklers went off during training
Alessandro Bastoni7
Lefty who struggles to dribble past and has studied how Real Madrid’s Antonio Rüdiger choked Haaland.
Denzel Dumfries 8
How Inter deal with Grealish will be key and I’m sure we’ll see Dumfries come through to form a back-five barrier.
Nicolo Barella 8.5
Barella is box-to-box, courageous and dynamic. He will be the most robust midfielder to be seen at Inter on Saturday.
Hakan Calhanoglu 7.5
Calhanoglu has a good eye for a pass but I suspect City will choke Inter in the middle of the park.
Henrick Mkhitaryan7
Nice on the ball. We saw that in England. But the problem is that Inter will not see much of the ball.
Nicolo Barella (front-centre) could be an indispensable link in Inter Milan’s midfield tomorrow
Lautaro Martínez could be a huge threat to City tomorrow and is on the verge of winning the World Cup and Champions League in the same season
Former Man United player Matteo Darmian can stop Man City from winning the treble tomorrow night
Federico Dimarco 7.5
All energy on the left wing. He will drop back like Dumfries, but flying forward on the counter is key.
Edin Dzeko 7
It is not mentioned enough that he scored the QPR equalizer before the ‘Aguerooo’ winner – City will know he is dangerous.
Lautaro Martinez 8.5
Scorer of 28 goals for Inter this season, twice as many as the next man. Elite finisher but needs service tonight.
Simone Inzaghi8
Stepping out of his brother Filippo’s shadow as a manager. Cup specialist is ready for his biggest match.
