- The student's family was shocked as there were no signs that she was pregnant
- The baby was born healthy weighing 3.2kg after mother was rushed to hospital
A furious teacher who told students to stop being loud during an exam was left stunned when she discovered one of the students had given birth.
The usual silence in the examination hall of SMA Negeri 1 secondary school in Sampang, Indonesia, was broken on Thursday with a commotion involving both teachers and students.
In an attempt to restore order, Muhammad Nurchalid – the teacher overseeing the Grade 10 class – warned the students to “calm down.”
But despite his intervention, “they were still noisy,” he later reported, adding, “It was followed by the sound of a baby crying.”
“It turned out that a student was covered in blood, with a baby next to her,” he added.

Nurchalid called a female teacher and the school's public relations officer and the student was taken to a local clinic for help.
But due to medical complications, the mother's condition was considered unstable and she was referred to the regional hospital Dr. Mohammad Zyn Sampang, Nurchalid said.
The baby was eventually born weighing 3.2 kg (about 7.05 lbs).
On Friday, the school's principal, Mr Sukardi, said the student had been in intensive care due to seizures caused by bleeding, but her condition had continued to improve.
'Last night around 11:30 we received news that the placenta had been successfully removed.
'Thank God it's better now. The baby has been brought home,” the director said.
The student's family later said they were shocked because there were no signs she was pregnant.
The school said it was also not “suspicious” because the girl was “overweight,” according to the South China Morning Post reported.
“Even her sports teacher said she had continued to participate in sports activities like any other student,” Sukardi told Detikcom.
