Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour film opening weekend falls under projections… but earns ‘$95-97 million’ at the box office

The numbers are in for Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour movie opening weekend.

According to The Wrapthe documentary-style film earned $95-$97 million at the domestic box office.

Ahead of the release at AMC — where the feature is showing exclusively — the company projected a $100 million domestic opening.

If it reached that number, it would surpass the October record of $96.2 million held by 2019’s Joker.

Despite falling slightly below the expected money figure, the movie is still considered a huge success as it cost $20 million to produce.

Swift’s film documents one of six sold-out shows she performed at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, over the summer.

The singer shut down The Grove mall in Los Angeles to host the premiere earlier this week.

And some of the 33-year-old singer’s die-hard admirers – the 2,200 people invited to the debut of her film – took to the internet to sell memorabilia from the event.

Items such as a popcorn tin, cup and bag all appeared online after the event, with price tags reaching hundreds of dollars.

One day after the high-profile Wednesday night event, the goods were spotted on eBay.

Sellers offered shoppers bundle deals while packing beverage cups with a popcorn bucket for about $100, although one assortment was listed for $230.

The merchandise was given to moviegoers for free, as one of the perks to the hand-picked group of Swifties.

Despite the non-exclusivity of some trinkets, people were still happy to pay for the limited edition items.

The 12-time Grammy winner invited her biggest fans to a first-look event ahead of the film’s official launch on October 13.

Swift wore a $12,000 blue Oscar de la Renta gown at the soiree, which included 14 sold-out showrooms.

The Eras Tour kicked off in March and serves as a retrospective of her 17-year career.

The movie collected $100 million in pre-sale tickets before it was shown at AMC Theaters on Friday.

Missing from the screening event was Swift’s beau Travis Kelce, 34, as the Kansas City Chiefs tight end was scheduled to play the Denver Broncos at his team’s home stadium on Thursday.
