Taylor Swift’s sold-out concert in Los Angeles sparks anger from local residents over loud noise from 70K fans

Taylor Swift kicked off the first night of her six-day Eras Tour stop in Los Angeles on Thursday, but local residents weren’t too happy about the loud noises emanating from the festivities.

The Love Story hitmaker, 33, who recently added 15 more dates to her Eras Tour, performed at SoFi Stadium to a sold-out crowd of 70,000 excited Swifties.

In a movie obtained by TMZa resident who lives near the sprawling Inglewood site revealed just how noisy the night sounded as the voices of singing fans echoed in the air.

“This is right next to our house,” the man explained from behind the camera. “Like, how can anyone sleep? But all those loud people… so you can hear the whole concert.”

He then continued filming while the lyrics to You Belong With Me were heard word for word as fans sang along with Swift.

The clip ended with the end of the song, which was prompted by a burst of cheers and applause that echoed through the still night air.

According to the outlet, the concert officially came to an end a few minutes before midnight.

The Grammy winner wowed her fans and performed a number of hits in LA, but before she took the stage herself, the band Haim and singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams warmed up the crowd.

Several celebrities also stopped by on the first night, including Mindy Kaling, Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline, Sofia Carson, as well as Vanessa Bryant and her daughters.

Kobe Bryant’s widow took to her main Instagram page to share special moments captured during the fun concert, including when Bianka Bryant, six, got a warm hug from Taylor.

Before Thursday’s concert, TMZ previously reported that law enforcement had taken extra precautions and measures to keep fans safe — similar to the steps taken for Super Bowl LVI.

In addition to staying close to the SoFi stadium, officers were also “scattered” throughout the city’s subway system.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated on Tuesday that “the department will provide a similar level of visibility to the 2022 Superbowl to ensure the safety of the public throughout the subway system.”

Taylor’s dates in LA are coming to an end on August 9, which was also originally the end of her dates in the US.

However, the Bad Blood singer shocked fans when she added a total of 15 extra dates to the Eras Tour, including nine concerts in the US.

Along with a six-day stop in Toronto next year in November 2024, Swift will perform in Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis for the first time starting October 18.

“It turns out this is NOT the end of an era,” she wrote excitedly to her 269 million fans and followers. “Miami, New Orleans, Indy and Toronto: The Eras Tour is coming to you in 2024 with @gracieabrams.”

The blonde beauty began her long tour in Glendale, Arizona earlier this year in March and will travel to Mexico City for dates later this month.

She returns to South America in November for stops in Argentina and Brazil, with Sabrina Carpenter as the opening act.

At Thursday’s concert, Taylor gifted fans with a few surprise songs in her setlist, which already includes a whopping 45 songs.
