ESPN personality Pat McAfee believes the Kansas City Chiefs will win the Super Bowl again — and this time, the person responsible for it all won’t be head coach Andy Reid, nor quarterback Patrick Mahomes, nor Travis Kelce.
Instead, the one responsible for a fourth Lombardi Trophy coming to Kansas City will be… Taylor Swift.
Yep, that’s right, McAfee – a former NFL gambler – believes the pop star could be just what KC needs to become the first team since the 2003 and 2004 New England Patriots to win back-to-back titles.
“The Kansas City Chiefs are about to win the Super Bowl again, and it’s all because of Taylor Swift,” he said on The Pat McAfee Show.
‘Travis Kelce had a lot of catches in the first half, at half time they are ahead by forty points. Travis Kelce isn’t in the paint yet, with Taylor Swift (watching). I’m like, don’t (Matt) Nagy and Andy Reid want to see Kelce do his thing, do his dance for his new lady, who just happens to be here tonight?
Pat McAfee believes Taylor Swift is the reason Travis Kelce and the Chiefs will win a title
Taylor Swift accepted Kelce’s invite to watch a Chiefs game against the Bears on Sunday
Kelce racked up 69 receiving yards and one touchdown in the Chiefs 41-10 win over Chicago
“Then second-half Patrick Mahomes says, ‘Hey, don’t worry, I’ll get you a ball.’ Broken script, broken play, not where to go… he scores a touchdown.
“Now Taylor is going crazy… look at that reaction. They know each other. She is invested in the success of the Chiefs and Travis Kelce. He gave a little teaser last week, he said, “The ball is in her court.”
‘I think they seem to be having a good time. I think Travis Kelce is the right man for Taylor Swift… and Taylor, and the Swifties, we’d like to tell you: welcome to football.
“There was one specific Swiftie account, my wife showed me, that explained what football is while the game was going on. “Just so you know you get four tries…”
‘There are people who are not happy about this… I want these football people to know: this is great for football, great for business. I’m so freaking happy for Travis Kelce, man.”
Swift was on hand to watch Kelce and the Chiefs beat the Chicago Bears 41-10 in Arrowhead. Kelce caught a touchdown and racked up 69 receiving yards.
