Taylor Swift’s nemesis Scooter Braun has unexpected reaction to Donald Trump’s ‘hate’ comment after the singer endorsed Kamala Harris

Scooter Braun took to social media to say he was on Taylor Swift’s side regarding the upcoming presidential election, addressing Donald Trump.

The 43-year-old talent manager responded to the Republican presidential candidate via Instagram Stories on Sunday, after Trump responded strongly to Swift, 34, on his social media platform Truth Social.

‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!’ Trump was furious on Sunday after the singer shared an endorsement shortly after his poorly reviewed debate performance, in which she endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

Despite Swift’s long history of feuding with Braun over his purchase of most of her old master recordings, the record executive appeared to defend her against Trump while simultaneously emphasizing his own support for the presidential election.

“Shake it off, Donald,” Braun wrote in his post, attaching a screenshot of Trump’s original message.

He made it clear he was supporting the Democrat in the race by adding “Kamala 2024” underneath, along with an emoji of the American flag.

Braun has made few public political statements during the tumultuous election, but has previously indicated his support for Harris.

In an August 3 Instagram post, he shared several photos of himself with Kamala Harris, showing his support for her.

He boasted that he was “proud” to call Harris his “girlfriend” and noted that he had previously voted for both Republicans and Democrats, but he said he thought she would be the best candidate to represent “all of us” and stand “against anti-Semitism and hate in any form.”

Braun’s defense of Swift and mockery of Trump came as a surprise, as Swift had repeatedly criticized him for purchasing her old recordings.

In 2019, Braun, funded by several private equity firms, acquired Taylor Swift’s former label Big Machine Records.

A year earlier, she had gone to Republic Records to release her future albums.

The purchase of the label gave Braun ownership of all of Swift’s master recordings up to and including 2017’s Reputation, while 2019’s Lover was her first album with Republic.

As an owner, he would be able to profit from the sales and streaming of her early albums.

Swift later claimed that she had tried to buy her own master recordings, but that Big Machine Records had blocked her. They only offered her a deal where she would have to record a new album with Big Machine every time she wanted her old master recordings back, starting with her first album, 2006’s Taylor Swift.

In response, the Blank Space singer began re-recording all of Braun’s albums in the deluxe “Taylor’s Version” edition. She hoped that her fans would re-purchase the albums and only stream her re-recorded versions, thereby depriving Braun of the revenue he had expected from her masters.

So far, the “Taylor’s Version” series has been a success for Swift. The albums have become hits on par with her new studio albums and have helped her break multiple sales records.

Some critics have also praised the new versions, as they showcase Swift’s more mature voice than the original versions.

It appears Taylor has not responded to Scooter’s Instagram post referencing her yet.

Trump’s anti-Swift post on Truth Social appeared just five days after she said in a lengthy Instagram post that she would vote for Harris in November.

She also encouraged her millions of followers to research the election and register to vote via a link she shared on vote.gov in her Instagram Story where she shared her grid post.

Trump’s Sunday post is his most angry response to Swift yet.

Immediately after the debate on Tuesday, Trump was asked for his reaction to Swift’s endorsement and he simply replied, “I have no idea.”

Hundreds of thousands of people — about 337,000 earlier this week — clicked on Swift’s story link. It represents a tiny percentage of her 284 million followers.

More than 11 million people have liked the photo Swift posted of herself with one of her three cats, named after a fictional character, Benjamin Button.

Swift signed her backing track for Harris with: ‘Childless Cat Lady’

It’s a reference to Trump’s running mate Senator JD Vance, who said in a 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson that the US is run by Democrats, corporate oligarchs and “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are unhappy with their own lives and the choices they’ve made and therefore want to make the rest of the country unhappy too.”

This line was widely criticized by unmarried women across the country.

While some argue that Swift’s entry into the November political election could be a huge breakthrough, polls suggest her endorsement will have little impact on the state of the race.

A new poll from ABC News/Ipsos A report released Sunday found that only six percent of Americans say the singer-songwriter’s support would make them more likely to vote for Harris.

Meanwhile, 13 percent say it makes them less likely to support the ice cream president — though it’s unclear whether those people seriously considered voting for Harris in the first place — and 81 percent say it makes no difference.
