Kanas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce defended his fashion decisions to brother and Philadelphia Eagles center Jason on the latest episode of their podcast, New Heights.
During the clip, the two reacted to a photo posted by the NFL Network of Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson wearing one of Jason’s “gameday fits,” which consisted of a t-shirt, jeans and flip-flops.
“Shocker, Jason’s workout outfit is the same fit he wears every day,” the Eagles center said to begin his rant. “What the fuck do I care if I’m on gameday?
‘Some people go to play football and some people dress up. I don’t like dressing up. I like to play football.’
“I don’t go shopping, color coordinating, buying belts and shoes and all that stuff just to go play football. I don’t understand it for even a second. What is the point? I do not understand.’
Jason Kelce poked fun at his brother Travis during a rant about players’ gameday outfits
One of Travis Kelce’s outfits caught extra attention from fans after his relationship with Taylor Swift
One of Travis’ outfits drew extra attention after his relationship with Taylor Swift became public news.
“Maybe you can explain it to me, because you do,” Jason continued before allowing Travis to intervene.
Kelce tried to respond to his brother’s rant by saying, “My gameday fit is also my normal day fit. So I know exactly what you’re talking about.’
Jason quickly responded by saying, “Travis. Travis. You haven’t worn anything less than $100 to a game.”
Travis Kelce has also shown up to competitions this year in very simple, non-fashion outfits
Travis then made a joke about the slippers Jason wore in the video.
Unlike Jason, many players in the NFL and sports in general tend to wear fashionable outfits during games.
Many of the players are best known for putting together eye-catching outfits and are also among the best players on the football field or in their respective sport.
It’s also worth noting that Travis has also worn regular tracksuits to games both before and since his relationship with Swift, and he’s not one of those athletes who tends to turn gameday into a fashion show.
