Self-proclaimed ‘Swifties’ have once again proven their devotion to pop singer Taylor Swift.
Her fans helped propel her new studio album, Midnights, to record highs by making it the most-streamed album in a single day in Spotify’s history, according to the music streaming service as reported by rolling stone.
And before the clock could even strike midnight on October 22, Taylor Swift broke the record for most-streamed album in a single day in Spotify’s history. Congratulations, @taylorswift13,” Spotify announced on Twitter.
Reading the Spotify tweet, Swift, 32, wrote: ‘How did I get this lucky, that you guys are doing something amazing here?! Like what just happened?!?!’

While Spotify hasn’t released any official tracks, the total must be over 183 million streams as that was Bad Bunny’s old record for his Un Verano Sin Ti album which came out last May.
Drake previously held the record with 176.8 million for Certified Lover Boy, which was released in September 2021.
It seems that so many Swifties bombed the Spotify app at midnight to listen to the new album that it briefly crashed, leaving fans scrambling to find out what had gone wrong.
According to Downdetector.com, Spotify saw a massive outage around the world at Midnight ET, right around the time Midnights was released.
Many of her fans took to social media platforms to express their frustration over the glitch.
‘How did I get this lucky?’: The pop superstar called the new Spotify record ‘mind blowing’ as she tweeted her response to the streaming service’s announcement
In the end, the apparent outage seemed to last only a brief moment, and fans were then all able to listen to her new batch of songs for the first time.
Just a few hours after Midnights’ initial drop, Swifties got the surprise that she’d been teasing the release of Midnights (3am Edition) on the platform.
The special edition of the album includes seven additional tracks, bringing the total track count for the 3am edition to 20 tracks.
Prior to its release, the 11-time Grammy winner named Midnights as a concept album about nighttime contemplation, describing it as a “journey through horrors and sweet dreams,” inspired by “13 sleepless nights” of her life.
The record was written and produced by Swift with longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, whose work with the singer dates back to when they wrote Sweeter than Fiction for the film One Chance (2013).

Tame work: Antonoff has worked with Swift on her albums 1989 (2014), Reputation (2017), Lover (2019), Folkore (2020), Evermore (2020), and now Midnights (2022)

Midnights, her tenth studio album, marks her first new work since her 2020 albums Folklore and Evermore.
In fact, her incredible writing and recording output over the past few years has resulted in her releasing four new albums since August 2019, when she released Lover.
