Taylor Swift ‘wipes away tears’ after performing emotional song – following split from Matt Healy
Taylor Swift fans were convinced the singer was wiping away tears after performing an emotional song about loss at her Detroit performance on Saturday.
The singer, 33, took to the stage as part of her Eras tour as she continued to entertain the crowd despite her recent split from Matty Healy, 34 from The 1975.
Taylor has played two surprise numbers at the end of her concerts and on Saturday she was seen playing her 2008 Breathe on the piano.
Fans watching the live stream quickly spotted the star seemingly wiping a tear from her cheek as she concluded the stunning rendition.
With one writing, “Damn, it somehow feels like she’s barely holding it together in the more recent shows.”

A second wrote: “TAYLOR DID A TEAR AFTER BREATHING???? BYE IM DISTURBED’.
While a third said, “Did she just cry while breathing?” did she wipe away a tear??’.
A fourth said, “Taylor Swift, after she finished her second surprise song, she wiped her eyes like she was crying.”
And a fifth commented, “She dropped it on the side of her face, hidden on screen, God, she’s too talented.”
The song features the lyrics, “It’s the kind of ending you don’t really want to see” and “I can’t breathe without you, but I have to.”
MailOnline has reached out to Taylor’s representatives for comment.
Earlier this year, the hitmaker also divorced British actor Joe Alwyn, 32, after a six-year relationship.
A source close to the couple said at the time: “The relationship was just running its course. It’s why [Alwyn] has not been spotted on any show,” with Page Six claiming the pair split “a few weeks” before the news broke in April
It comes after rocker Matt appeared to apologize on stage Wednesday night at his band’s stop in Dublin, Ireland – two days after his romance with Swift ended.

Matty performed a solo acoustic set before the full band took the stage and asked the audience a question.
He grabbed a can of black spray paint and scribbled “Sorry?” in giant letters on a white background as his bandmate Jamie Squire sang a cover of Leon Russell’s A Song For You.
Swift and the rocker’s romance was revealed in May amid speculation they had been dating for weeks – but a friend close to the star confirmed Taylor was “single” again on Monday.
Later in the evening, Matty tried to shake it off with several pints of Guinness, waving the pint at the crowd and saying, “It’s not even normal, it’s just because it tastes so good.”
“But you drink so much of it like it’s some kind of milk that you forget the songs, so I came in at the wrong time,” he continued.
“I thought it was pretty dramatic too, I came over here and it was all eye contact and just a guy,” he said slurredly.
According to Matty, he stumbled across the stage to the concern of his bandmates George Daniel and Adam Hann The sun.
While Taylor hasn’t spoken about the breakup, she gave a very emotional performance at her show in Chicago this weekend and nearly burst into tears when her voice began to break during a piano version of “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” a emotional farewell song.
“Wondering if I dodged a bullet, or just lost the love of my life?” Swift sang as her mouth seemed to quiver with emotion.
The Dear Reader hitmaker dated the I Always Want to Die singer for just over a month following her split from her boyfriend of six years, actor Joe Alwyn.
Speaking of Alwyn, he’s reportedly “disappointed and embarrassed” by Swift’s new breakup anthem You’re Losing Me, which she released last month. The mirror reported.
The song’s lyrics follow the breakdown of a relationship with the Don’t Blame Me singer and describe how she wanted to get married, but he never asked her.
She sings: ‘How long could be a sad song / ‘Til we were too far to bring back to life?’
Alwyn would “understand she would spare him the Harry Styles treatment.”
A source said, “He respectfully asks her to let him move on — and shut up!”
The Stars at Noon actor also reportedly thinks it was “rude” that Taylor flaunted her “tasteless new romance” with Healy.
