Taylor Swift stuns fans as she invites surprise guest on stage during first Sydney gig at Accor stadium: ‘She heroically sacrificed her show’
Taylor Swift gave her good friend and supporting act Sabrina Carpenter a moment in the spotlight during her show in Sydney on Friday evening.
Swift’s first concert in Sydney kicked off late at night after storms and rain caused the Accor Stadium to be temporarily evacuated.
This led to the set for support act Carpenter being cancelled, before Swift finally took the stage just over 20 minutes after the scheduled start time of 7:30 PM.
Taylor ensured that Sabrina still got a show by inviting her on stage as a duo to perform a cover of White Horse together.
“My incredibly talented, amazing, beautiful, hilarious, brilliant opening act Sabrina Carpenter!” said Taylor when introducing the 24-year-old American singer.

Fans seated on the ground and lower bowl levels of the stadium were asked to move inside after lightning struck just 6 miles (10 kilometers) away shortly before 6 p.m.
