Taylor Swift fans call out scalpers for ‘price gouging’ Eras Tour merch on Facebook Marketplace

Taylor Swift fans have slammed greedy scalpers for trying to resell Eras Tour merchandise on Facebook Marketplace.

After the superstar played seven sold-out shows in Sydney and Melbourne in February, Australians are eager to get their hands on official merchandise.

Those unlucky enough to miss the pop-up stalls have instead taken to online forums such as Ebay, Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree.

But fans are instead faced with demands of $500 for a wristband given away for free at the concert – or scammers who disappear after you wire them money.

β€œI just find it so disgusting that people are deliberately trying to profile these things,” one person said.

Another fan recently found the $50 Bejeweled Midnights Eras chain bracelet on sale for $100, but it was marked down from $150.

β€œThe fact that they had to lower it makes me laugh. I hope karma gets them and they’re left with it,” one woman said of the greedy seller.

The jewelry is made of copper and glass and will probably discolour quickly due to wear.

‘That’s shocking! I absolutely love my bracelet, but it’s not even worth the $50 I paid for it – I can’t imagine trying to sell it for $150. That is so wrong,” said another.

A few claimed that Taylor herself was selling overpriced merchandise, with many saying that $70 for a t-shirt and $120 for a hoodie is “unreasonable.”

Unfortunately, there are also other items listed for outrageous prices.
