A claim that started as playful banter from Taylor Swift’s fan base is becoming increasingly difficult to deny.
Swift’s new romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been consistently top news stories since September.
While Swift “putting Kelce on the map” is questionable given Kelce’s success in the NFL, recent data shows this statement to be true in aspects outside of football.
British gaming site Amazon slots used data from SocialBlade to compare Kelce’s social media numbers before and after his relationship with the pop star went public. A month after Swift first appeared at a Chiefs game to support Kelce, the Kansas City star has gained 1,622,160 followers on Instagram.

After Swift made her first appearance in a game against the Chicago Bears on September 4, fans flooded the broadcast of the Chiefs game the following week. As a result, the Week 4 game against the New York Jets became the most watched game since Super Bowl LVII due to a spike in female viewers.
On October 15, a fan presented Kelce with a friendship bracelet that said “on the card” while the 34-year-old was watching his brother Jason and the Philadelphia Eagles play the Jets at MetLife Stadium. This act made Kelce and company laugh as he thanked the fan for the gift.
