Taylor Swift and Queen Mary of Denmark are among celebrity fans of Australian swimwear brand Zimmermann and its boho chic paisley designs

Despite their different fashion tastes, Crown Queen Mary of Denmark and megastar Taylor Swift share a love for a bohemian designer brand.

The 34-year-old superstar musician and the 52-year-old Danish Queen have both been spotted this year in beachwear from Zimmerman’s Summer Swim 2023 collection.

Before leaving for the Paris Olympics, Queen Mary was photographed taking a relaxing dip in the ocean at Nikki Beach in Sardinia. She wore a Devi Plunge V Wire One Piece, available for around £160, from the Australian brand.

And in April, Swift shared a montage of snippets of personal moments from her life on social media when she released her 11th studio album, Tortured Poets Departments.

In a photo you won’t soon miss, the 34-year-old was spotted on a sultry vacation in a Zimmerman bikini top from the same line.

Taylor’s bikini bottoms and Mary’s swimsuit feature the same colorful paisley patchwork print, a plunging neckline with underwire and thin spaghetti straps.

Mary’s swimsuit covers her body better and has a stylish, detachable belt with a chain detail.

The mother of four typically opts for Danish designers, such as Birgid Hallstein, who designed her 2004 wedding dress and many of the royal’s favorite ball gowns. However, she often pays homage to her Australian roots by wearing clothes from brands Down Under.

She wore the swimsuit and protected herself from the sun with a £76 Canopy Bay Hutton Malibu hat, designed by Australian TV personality and skin cancer survivor Deborah Hutton.

While enjoying her time off in Sardinia, Mary went sailing in another Zimmermann gem: the Tiggy Paisley Print Mini Dress for £593.

Zimmerman has shown collections at both Australian and New York Fashion Weeks. The collections aren’t cheap, but the swimwear doesn’t come with a sky-high designer price tag either.

Taylor’s £165 Devi Plunge V Wire bikini bottoms are out of stock on Zimmermann’s website and most retailers.

However, some online retailers not only have a small stock but have even reduced the price to less than £50.

The Australian-born royal’s swimsuit is much easier to get hold of, costing between £162 and £235.

It’s not the first time Mary and Swift’s styles have matched.

They are also big fans of New York designer Ellen Hunter, who is best known for her ornate, handmade hair accessories, which have become a celebrity favorite over the years.

Queen Mary has been photographed wearing Hunter’s £57 Daphne comb in the Domed Hall of Fredensborg Castle, the spring and autumn residence of the Danish Royal Family.

The Queen wore the hair accessory at the Armed Forces Badge of Honour dinner in September 2023, three years after Swift debuted the famous comb in her Cardigan (Cabin in the Candlelight) music video in 2020.

Swift paired the delicate gold comb with a velvet Ralph Lauren dress, while Queen Mary teamed the accessory with a sleek black suit and her medals.

Queen Mary recently wore Ellen Hunter’s Jane Comb ($248) during the Danish state visit to Norway in May 2024.

The Jane comb uses filigree, a technique in which the maker twists and solders gold wire, making the design more intricate.

During the same visit to Norway, Queen Mary also flashed the Amanda Comb ($338) as she posed alongside her husband King Frederik X of Denmark and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr.

The glittering comb is adorned with European crystals and Pacific opals, set on gold leaves, similar to the Daphne comb.

Other celebrities, including Beyoncé, Ariana Grande and Paris Hilton, have also been spotted wearing Ellen Hunter’s popular designs since Swift first wore the stunning piece.
