Sports reporter Erin Andrews has downplayed her role as a matchmaker in Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s relationship.

Andrews and Charissa Thompson, co-host of the “Calm Down” podcast, acted as wingwives for the Kansas City Chiefs star last summer when they urged the pop superstar to give him a chance.

The sports anchors are credited with stoking the romance that took the NFL by storm last season, with the tight end themselves even thanking them.

However, Andrews has insisted they are not taking any credit for the relationship, telling the New York Post that they just told Swift to date the three-time Super Bowl winner “for America.”

The ‘Fortnight’ singer took their advice and started a relationship with the NFL star, and the rest is history.

Kelce and Swift’s whirlwind romance dominated the NFL throughout the NFL season, with much of the media attention focused on the singer in suites at stadiums across the country during her tight end boyfriend’s games.

However, their relationship and the attention surrounding it caused some backlash, especially from the “Dads, Brads and Chads,” as Swift herself put it.

Yet Andrews cannot understand the criticism as she insisted the ‘Anti-Hero’ hitmaker has only had a positive impact on the sport.

“This whole media fascination with her involvement in our sport, and people having opinions about it that are damaging to the competition – are you kidding me? She is incredible for our sport,” Andrews told The Post.

‘I find [Swift] to be completely fascinating and empowering, and I feel like now more than ever,” Andrews added, “she has opened the door for these young female viewers.”

Andrews also credited the 14-time Grammy Award winner with helping fathers and their daughters bond through sports, just as she did with her own father.

“Thanks to my dad, I loved watching sports,” she said. ‘I grew up thinking these players were my friends.

“And a lot of guys come up to me and say, ‘This is so cool [Swift] I was able to get my daughter interested in watching a game, and now I can sit and teach her about it.”

In mid-October, Swift was spotted wearing a jacket from Andrews’ WEAR fashion line, which, according to the sideline reporter, made her cry.
