It was revealed on Thursday that Taylor Swift has officially reached billionaire status – 17 years into her career as music’s biggest superstar.
Bloomberg reported that Swift, 33, is now part of the coveted ten-figure club that includes reality TV star Kim Kardashian and media mogul Oprah Winfrey.
The success of the singer’s multi-Grammy Award-winning Eras Tour – which is on track to become the highest-grossing tour in history – has been credited with skyrocketing her net worth.
The achievement is particularly monumental as she is one of the few to achieve the milestone ‘through music and performance alone’.
In addition to boosting her net worth, Bloomberg reported that Swift’s 53 concerts in the United States this year “added $4.3 billion to the country’s gross domestic product.”
The outlet notes that their analysis was “conservative” as it is strictly based on figures that are publicly known, such as its real estate portfolio, streaming deals, etc.
Swift kicked off her Eras Tour in the United States in March after a now infamous Ticketmaster debacle last November, which left many ‘Swifties’ without tickets and being snapped up by resellers instead.
