It may be difficult to really put a number on the financial impact Taylor Swift’s romance with Travis Kelce has had on the NFL. But more than $300 million seems like a good starting point.
Clearly, Swift’s dating life has been at the forefront of the world of American football this season, drawing viewers not just to the Kansas City Chiefs but to the entire NFL landscape.
According to data from Apex Marketing Group (via Front office sports), Swift has reportedly generated “brand equity” for the Chiefs and the NFL worth $331.5 million this season.
That data values print, digital, radio, television, highlights and social media monitoring for Swift since she attended her first game in Kansas City on September 24 through the Chiefs’ divisional round matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
According to Eric Smallwood, president of Apex, digital content and online news generated the most value, ahead of social media.
Data shows that Taylor Swift generated a “brand value” of over $330 million this season
Since attending her first Chiefs game in late September, Swift has been big in the NFL
She has attended 12 of KC’s 18 games, including all three games in the NFL playoffs
That $331 million was a significant jump since Apex last tracked its “brand value” for the Chiefs and the league in October – at the height of the “KelSwift” mania.
When they were photographed on a date in New York City, she had earned $166 million to that point.
Taylor has attended 12 of the Chiefs’ 18 games this season, including all three of KC’s playoff games leading up to Super Bowl LVIII.
Now the question is whether or not she will be present at the Big Game itself, as she has a heavily congested schedule.
Between now and Super Bowl Sunday, Swift will attend the Grammy Awards and play four shows at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. The last of those shows comes the day before the Super Bowl itself.
If she attends, she will fly back across the Pacific shortly afterwards for a three-night stay at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia from February 16 to 18.
