Taylor Swift has 20% of Americans more interested in football… but 44% HATE what popstar has done to NFL

With Taylor Swift’s NFL season two ending in one night, more Americans are taking an interest in the sport because of her presence at games.

Last season, Swift’s romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce took the world by storm.

With the couple in the news daily, the NFL capitalized on the pop star’s massive, cult-like fan base, who attended games to see what their idol looked like.

After her impact was felt immensely through ticket sales and viewing figures, Lending tree investigated to determine the magnitude of the Swift effect this season.

With 2,000 fans participating in the survey, LendingTree found that 17 percent of Americans are more interested in watching the NFL because of the pop star. Men are more likely to agree with the statement at 22 percent, while 13 percent of women agree.

In the rest of the pie chart, another 17 percent indicated they were less interested in Swift, while the remaining 66 percent remained unchanged.

Her presence has also helped the NFL reach more young people, with 25 percent of Gen Zers saying Swift has influenced their views of the league.

On the other hand, 44 percent of respondents say they hate what Swift has done to the NFL. Still, 14 percent of the fan base plans to spend more money this season because of Swift.

Aside from the study’s findings, the NFL has benefited from Swift’s impact following last season’s growth.

Swift dominated a new promo for the 2024 NFL season ahead of the opening round of games this week. In a 30-second promo, the pop star appeared on screen five times, swiping at the athletes and leaving many fans furious.

Kelce and the Chiefs open the season on Thursday against the Baltimore Ravens, who are seeking their third straight title.
