Taylor Swift guitar is SMASHED by elderly man who had just spent $4K for the signed instrument at charity auction

A Taylor Swift-signed guitar purchased for $4,000 at a charity auction in Texas was abruptly destroyed by the winner.

Video of the moment shows the man going on stage to collect the prize, but immediately starting to rip into the guitar with a hammer handed to him by an auction worker.

The body of the instrument, decorated with Taylor decor, was torn apart by the tools as the crowd erupted in cheers.

“Now take that and hang up that broken thing,” the auctioneer said to the winner before walking away with the guitar.

Even though the precious instrument was now useless, he still happily walked away with his prize.

The $4,000 all went to charity, with profits benefiting the Ellis County Wild Game dinner, an event to support the agricultural and rural education of local youth.

A TikTok user who posted the video captioned it: “Man bought a signed Taylor Swift guitar at a live auction for $4,000, only to destroy it. #taylorswift #trump2024 #trump #taylornation #swifties #republican #trumpsupporters #trump #texas #feeling22 #trumptrain.”

Citing the Ellis County Wild Game Dinner organization: TMZ reports that the guitar was donated to the auction before Swift endorsed Kamala Harris as president.

It was donated by a third party and a certificate of authenticity confirms that the Love Story singer did indeed autograph it.

The donation was not intended to be destroyed; it was the buyer who decided to ruin the donation, the outlet adds.

Perhaps the winner made a political statement by destroying the instrument after Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for president over Donald Trump.

Auction visitor Rob Bartley explained The independent on the guitar-crushing moment: ‘Earlier this year, a Taylor Swift guitar had been sold at another event that was unrelated to this, so it wasn’t an unheard of item to auction.

“That said… when the guy announced he wanted to vandalize it, out came the camera phones.”

‘It was unexpected, but not surprising. This part of Texas is strongly conservative and the Biden/Harris administration is not highly regarded.

Swift endorsed Harris shortly after the 2024 presidential election between the current vice president and Trump.
