Fans of Taylor Swift have found a photo of the pop star posing with a personalized Kansas City Chiefs jersey, eight years before she started dating NFL boyfriend Travis Kelce.
The 12-time Grammy Award winner started dating Kelce about three months ago and was spotted cheering on the Chiefs star at four of his games after he tried to give her his number on a friendship bracelet during her Eras Tour show at the Arrowhead Stadium in July. .
But it appears Swift’s connection to the Chiefs goes back further than this summer, after a photo of the pop sensation wearing a personalized Kansas City jersey resurfaced this week.
During her hugely successful 1989 Tour in September 2015, Swift also made a stop in Kansas City to perform at Arrowhead – home of the Chiefs – and met then-quarterback Chase Daniel.
Daniel, who played the Chiefs’ signal caller from 2013 to 2018, and his wife Hillary presented Swift with a No. 89 jersey in honor of the 1989 Grammy-winning album, which was named after the year she was born.

However, eight years later, the ever-inquisitive Swifties dug up the post and sent the photo viral, tying the invisible string to her current NFL boyfriend Kelce.
Daniel saw the funny side in the renaissance of his tweet, quoting his eight-year-old post: “The #Swifties found this message and are spreading it…my life is about to change.”
Swifties were quick to flood his comments, with some thanking him for his “service” and others jokingly apologizing for “what’s to come.”
“I’m putting you on the map,” one social media user joked, referring to the internet trend sparked by her fans who claimed Swift had raised Kelce’s profile with their relationship.
One Chiefs fan account pointed out that it would have been even more iconic if Daniel Swift had gifted a No. 87 jersey — Kelce’s number.
