Taylor Swift fans’ dream night turns into a nightmare after man’s creepy act in hotel room while they were sleeping following her sold-out concert

Taylor Swift fans have revealed how their special night was ruined after a thief snuck into their room and stole their phones, a bank card and $300 cash.

Sisters Jess and Hayley McLellan flew from New Zealand to attend the third of four sold-out shows Swift performed in Sydney on Sunday, February 25.

The women quickly fell asleep after returning to their room at the Palms Hotel in Chullora, in Sydney’s west, about 1am.

Just hours later, hotel CCTV captured a man trying every lever in the hallway before the door to their room swung open.

“We were just exhausted, but also the doors that go from outside to the hallway, as far as we know, don’t lock,” Jess told the NZ Herald.

“They’re just like a regular key lock and you can’t check from the inside if they’re locked because they’re basically always unlocked from the inside.”

The thief snuck into the room while the sisters were sleeping and stole a purse containing their phones, Jess’ bank card and $300 cash.

The man then tried to withdraw $8,000 from the bank card, which was declined, before leaving the empty handbag outside the hotel room door.

Their other sister, Morgan Turner, and her husband slept in a separate room.

The sisters are heartbroken over the loss of the photos and videos of Swift’s concert that they took on their phones.

Jess, 34, and Hayley, 20, had decided to stay in Australia for another week but were struggling to feel safe in the other accommodation they had booked.

The sisters could not relax at night and jumped at every ‘bump’ in the hallway, worrying about ‘what will happen next’.

A NSW Police spokesperson said officers from the Bankstown Police Area Command received a report after two women, aged between 20 and 34, had personal belongings stolen from their room at a hotel on the Hume Highway, Chullora.

“The women were sleeping at the time,” a spokeswoman said.

β€œAn investigation into the incident is ongoing and inquiries are continuing.”

The Palms Hotel gave the McLellan sisters a full refund.

Taylor Swift is currently in Singapore for the final leg of her sold-out Eras Tour, which reportedly earned the megastar more than $4 billion.

She will be joined by friend and Kansas City City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, who flew to Sydney to be with Swift last month.

The pair were spotted enjoying a date at the zoo before Kelce watched his girlfriend perform in front of tens of thousands of adoring fans at Sydney’s Accor Stadium.

The pop megastar will conclude her final shows in Singapore this week, with performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

She then flies to France to continue her world tour.
