Taylor Swift fans go wild as her new album The Tortured Poets Department ‘references former flame Matty Healy’ as its ‘leaked’ hours before release
Taylor Swift has sent fans into a frenzy after learning her new album The Tortured Poets Department contains many references to her former flame Matty Healy.
The 34-year-old’s eleventh album, due out on Friday, has reportedly been leaked hours before its official release.
And fans who have apparently already seen their first glimpse of the new album have noticed that the 1975 singer is mentioned a lot.
Taylor and Matty sent the showbiz world into meltdown with their whirlwind romance, which followed her split from boyfriend Joe Alwyn, 34, in February 2023.
Whether the album leak is legit or not, Taylor’s fans are shocked to hear Matty perform since their romance was so short.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, fans went into chaos after ‘hearing’ the lyrics.
Some wrote: ‘The Tortured Poets section being about Matty Healy and not Joe Alwyn is the joke of the century.’
“Harry Styles got 1989, Joe Alwyn got lover and reputation, but Matty Healy literally got the tortured poets department written about him, so who really won here.”
“The tortured poets section was always going to be about Matty Healy.”
‘The tortured poets department? more like the matty healy redemption album.”
‘Straat says that the album from the torture poets department is about Matty Healy, I don’t blame her for writing that album, I also behave that way towards men with whom I have been in a relationship for two months.’
It is also thought that the album will focus on her split from actor Joe, who she dated for six years.

Upon hearing these snippets, many have claimed that they are fake and created by artificial intelligence (AI), but others have remained convinced that the songs offer an early access pass to the official album.
A zip file circulating online contained 17 different songs – the same number of hits that Taylor confirmed would be included on her upcoming record.
DailyMail.com has contacted Taylor’s representatives for comment.
News of the alleged leak sent shockwaves through the singer’s fanbase, with some rushing to listen to the songs.
Others were quick to defend the pop star, urging others to “report” messages circulating in the clips and urging Taylor’s most die-hard supporters to wait until the official album is released.
‘Tip: Turn your device volume COMPLETELY OFF on Twitter for the NEXT 24 HOURS and REPORT ANY POST spamming album leaks! We got this!’ wrote one person.
Another said: ‘It’s not a Taylor Swift album if you don’t have fake ‘Swifties’ spreading leaks because they can’t wait for one day to listen to the project… sad.’
A third wrote: ‘Please don’t spread the leak of Taylor Swift’s new album. Remember, this is Taylor’s work, respect it, just like you would your favorite artist. Don’t punish the artists for the behavior of their fans.’

While this leak hasn’t been verified, it wouldn’t be the first time Taylor has seen one of her records appear online ahead of its official debut.
In 2017, the singer’s Reputation album, which was also due to be released on Friday, was leaked onto the internet a day before it was officially shared with the world.
However, in the years since that last leak, AI has become increasingly sophisticated, with several musicians being targeted by fake, computer-generated songs released under their names.
