Taylor Swift fan who spent $2,000 to see Eras Tour show in Vienna sparks outrage for insisting the singer cover her travel costs after failed terror plot

A Taylor Swift fan who paid more than $2,000 for a flight to Vienna to see her Eras Tour has sparked anger after demanding the singer pay for her travel expenses after she cancelled her show due to a terrorist threat.

The 34-year-old Cruel Summer singer announced on Wednesday that three concerts she had planned in the Austrian city this weekend have been canceled after government officials uncovered a chilling ISIS terror plot.

Immediately after the news broke online, distraught Swifties took to social media to share their sadness over the cancellation, especially those who had flown in from different countries and spent a lot of money to get there.

But one fan, named Ashley, came under heavy fire after she demanded that Taylor give her a “full refund” for not only her concert ticket, but also her outfit, flights and hotel.

The social media user claimed in the scathing tweet that she had been “scammed” by the hitmaker and lost thousands of dollars due to the cancellation.

A Taylor Swift fan who paid more than $2,000 for flights to Vienna to see her Eras Tour has sparked anger after demanding the singer cover her travel expenses after she cancelled the show due to a terrorist threat.

The fan, named Ashley, came under heavy criticism after she demanded that Taylor give her a “full refund” for not only her concert ticket, but also her outfit, flights and hotel.

Ashley’s post quickly went viral and was met with a huge backlash from fellow Swifties, who called her “spoiled” and “selfish” for complaining.

In the tweet, which has since been deleted, Ashley revealed how much money she spent on the canceled Vienna concert.

She said she paid €420 for her outfit, €593 for the flights and €268 for the hotel. Together with her €839 tickets, she said the total cost came to more than €2,000, or $2,182.

“I want a full refund for everything, not just the tickets,” she snapped, tagging Taylor’s team. “Let everyone join in with my hashtag #scammedbytaylorswift.”

Taylor fans were immediately outraged by Ashley’s response to the situation.

“SERIOUSLY?! You guys are so fucking selfish!” one person wrote, alongside a screenshot of Ashley’s post.

‘Imagine if Taylor hadn’t been canceled and killed. You guys would never be able to live with yourselves.

“I get that it sucks, but if you’re going to act like this, just leave the fandom.”

Ashley’s post quickly went viral and led to her receiving massive backlash from fellow Swifties, who branded her “entitled” and “selfish” for complaining

“And if you’re really that mad about how much you spent, sell it. Don’t come to Taylor for this.”

“So basically you would rather risk your life than lose a few hundred dollars? Take it,” another user replied to Ashley.

“Are you serious, girl?” someone else asked. “The government decided to cancel the three shows. Taylor can’t do anything about it.

‘There are more people who paid for flights and a hotel, you are not the only one. At least you are still alive.’

Another fan attacked her: ‘Girl, your life was saved from a terrorist attack. Use your f**king brain. WTF is wrong with you?’

“Girl, your life and the lives of many others may have been saved by this cancellation,” a fifth tweet read. “Taylor owes you nothing.”

A sixth said: ‘You need to get your priorities straight. Money will come back, you only have one life.’

‘The government is doing its job by protecting its residents and tourists.’

“Only stupid people complain about the money they lost,” someone else replied. “They should be glad their lives were saved.”

But Ashley wasn’t the only fan to express her disappointment over the cancellation.

Many other distraught Swifties shared their sadness over the cancellation on social media

A woman named Kayla Sommese told Business Insider she spent more than $5,000 and traveled 24 hours for the concert

“They just cancelled my Eras show in Vienna? My last f**king hope of seeing Taylor after trying all day to get tickets and planning my entire PTO around this?” tweeted another heartbroken fan.

“I’m absolutely devastated for my sister. After countless attempts to get affordable tickets to an American show, she met a Swiftie at her university who happened to have an extra ticket to Vienna,” someone else revealed.

“She spent her savings on this trip, hoping to see Taylor for the first time.”

“I spent all my savings on this trip. Saved all year,” wrote another. “I was going to see Taylor with my best friend who I met because of Taylor.

“It should have been the best weekend of my life. Everything was taken from me in a few seconds. My whole body hurts, I feel empty.”

“I’m sitting in a hotel room in Vienna and I realize that the Taylor Swift concert I’ve been looking forward to for a year and flew halfway around the world for has just been canceled,” another message reads.

‘Taylor is coming back to the US to tour in the fall and winter, but it’s so expensive to see her in the US that I’m not sure we’ll ever get to see the show again.

“Hopefully Taylor sees how much everyone is sympathetic to her. I know a lot of people are concerned about how upset she is, and I’m sure it’s devastating for her too.”

Beran A., 19, was arrested on Wednesday morning in Ternitz, south of Vienna, while a second teenager, 17, was detained in the Austrian capital in the afternoon, Director General for Public Security Franz Ruf said.

Austrian media reported that the suspects planned to drive a car into groups of Swifties that were gathering outside the venue and then attack them with machetes and knives.

The 19-year-old confessed that he planned to “kill as many people as possible outside the concert venue,” Austrian security officials said.

Franz also confirmed that “explosives were being manufactured” at the suspect’s home, after local media reported that the 19-year-old had stolen chemicals from his former workplace, a metalworking company, also in Ternitz, to make a bomb.

“Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour Vienna shows cancelled due to government officials’ confirmation of planned terrorist attack,” a statement from the promoter said.

‘Now that government officials have confirmed that a terrorist attack is being planned at the Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three planned shows for everyone’s safety.

‘All tickets will be automatically refunded within 10 working days.’
