Taylor Swift fan says delay at Nashville concert has created crowd situations reminiscent of the deadly Astroworld festival: ‘I’ve never been more scared for my life’
A concertgoer said conditions during a weather delay at Taylor Swift’s show in Nashville last Sunday were dangerously cramped, compared to the crowds at the Astroworld festival in Houston, which killed 10 people in October 2021.
Swift played her third show on The Eras Tour in Music City at Nissan Stadium last Sunday, where fans were told to shelter in place for three hours amid poor weather in the area.
A woman named Andrea among the TikTok covers @fantastic__fiction said in a clip on the social media site that she felt “uncomfortable, unsafe and terrified” during the incident.
“I love Taylor Swift with all my heart — I’m one of her biggest fans,” Andrea said, pointing out that she left the arena about two-thirds of the way through the concert.
Andrea said she had VIP seats for the show, adding that “everyone sitting in the bottom bowl and floor seats should all go under the stadium seats where the concessions are and shelter in place until it’s over.”

Andrea said that ‘it was a bit crowded at first but it was fine’ as concertgoers ‘did have some space’ but ended up being ‘shoulder to shoulder with nowhere to go’.
Andrea said that at her five-foot height, “everyone was towering over her” and “it got really cramped in there.”
She continued, “I literally thought it was going to be another Travis Scott fatality — I’ve never been so scared for my life.
“I couldn’t leave, I couldn’t move — I couldn’t go anywhere.”
Andrea said security guards at the site behaved aggressively as paramedics tried to force their way through the crowd like “several people.” [were] falling left and right and fainting.’
Andrea said that ‘when it finally came showtime, chaos broke out on the floor’ – as she was ‘literally in tears and unable to enjoy the show’ – and her partner was nearly swept under the crowd ‘due to the influx of the audience ‘.
Andrea said the continued bad weather conditions led her to leave the site, not wanting to risk getting into even more dangerous situations.
“When the lightning started to strike … I had to get out of there because I wasn’t going to be in another crowd situation,” she said.

The gates to the venue were opened and concertgoers in their vehicles were advised to remain there.
The Grammy winner herself took to Twitter to update fans on the situation, stating she would perform when she could.
“I know there’s a rainy weather feeling tonight, but I’m ready to play, see you soon!!” she said.
That night, Swift’s concert was delayed over three hours as she began her performance at 10:30 PM and concluded around 2 AM CT.
