Taylor Swift talks about the lyrics to some of the more esoteric lyrics in her song My Boy Breaks All His Favorite Toys.
The song – track three from The Tortured Poet’s Department – has fans wondering if it’s about Joe Alwyn, Matty Healy or another person who has wronged the Shake It Off singer, 34, in the past.
The chorus goes: “My boy only breaks his favorite toys, toys, oh / I’m the queen of the sand castles he destroys, oh, oh / ‘Cause it fit too well, puzzle pieces in the middle of the night / I had it I knew it was just a matter of time, oh, oh.’
In an interview with Amazon Musicthe Eras Tour mastermind explained that the theme is a metaphor from the perspective of a child’s favorite toy.
“Being someone’s favorite toy until he or she breaks you and then doesn’t want to play with you anymore,” she began.

“So many of us are in relationships where we are so valued by someone at first, and then all of a sudden they break us or devalue us in their minds,” she added.
“We’re still holding on to ‘No no, no. You should have seen them when they first saw me. They will come back to that. They will come back to that,” she said.
It is widely believed that the Cruel Summer singer’s songs on The Tortured Poets Department are about her ex-boyfriends Alwyn and Healy, Kim Kardashian (ThanK you aIMee), John Mayer or Jake Gyllenhaal (The Manuscript) and current boyfriend Travis Kelce (Alchemy).
Both Alwyn and Healy have commented on Taylor’s new album and the lyrics are said to be about them.
Down Bad, I Can Fix Him (No Real I Can), Fortnight and The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived are rumored to be about the 1975 frontman.
The English musician and Lavender Haze singer had a brief affair after her split from Alwyn.
But while the romance was brief, the history between the two musicians goes back more than a decade and goes much deeper than fans initially realized.
Entertainment tonight stopped Healy as he walked down the street in LA and asked him to rate his “Taylor diss song compared to the 30 others.”
