Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris may have scared off more voters than attracted them, according to a new poll.
YouGov’s findings, published on Saturday, showed that eight percent of voters said Swift’s support would make them “somewhat” or “much more likely” to vote Democratic.
While 20 percent said they are now “somewhat” or “much less likely” to vote for Harris after Swift endorsed her.
But the vast majority of respondents, 66 percent, said her support had no impact on their voting intentions.
Moments after the presidential debate earlier this week between Harris and former President Donald Trump, Swift expressed his support for the current vice president.

Swift said she voted for Harris because “she fights for the rights and causes that I believe we need a warrior to defend.”
The world was waiting for the 34-year-old Pennsylvania native to make his mark on the election after backing Joe Biden in 2020.
In a post on her Instagram page, Swift mocked Republicans and posted a photo of her cat as a nod to Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance.
Vance had mocked what he described as “childless cat ladies,” something the star concluded her message with.
She wrote: ‘I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election.’
She wrote a lengthy message about her endorsement: “If you haven’t already, now is a good time to do some research on the issues at stake and the positions these candidates take on the issues that matter most to you.
“As a voter, I make sure I read everything I can find about their proposed policies and plans for this country,” Swift wrote.
‘I was recently told that an AI of ‘me’ had been placed on Donald Trump’s site falsely endorsing his candidacy for president.
“It really confirmed my fears around AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation.
“It led me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my real plans for this election as a voter. The easiest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”
Taylor Swift posted her message of support shortly after Donald Trump and Kamala Harris concluded their first debate
Swift said she voted for Harris because “she fights for the rights and causes that I believe we need a fighter for.”
She went on to describe Harris as “steadfast” and a “gifted leader,” and said her running mate Tim Walz had also impressed her.
She concluded her message saying, “I’ve done my research and I’ve made my choice. Your research is entirely yours to do and the choice is yours to make.
Tim Walz learned of the show of support in real time during an interview on MSNBC. “I’m incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift,” Walz said. “I say that as a fellow cat owner.”
“That’s the kind of courage we need in America,” he added. “This is an opportunity Swifties: KamalaHarris.com — go there.”
After the show of support, Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told DailyMail.com: “It is further proof that the Democratic Party is, unfortunately, the party of the wealthy elite.
“Taylor Swift may make great music, but she doesn’t understand the struggles of everyday, hardworking families. And President Trump speaks for those hardworking, struggling families who don’t have the privilege of living in a gated community like Taylor Swift, who need to defund their local police, who are demanding their Second Amendment rights to defend themselves and their families because they don’t have armed security like Taylor Swift.”

The post has now received more than ten million likes on her Instagram page, where she has over 283 million followers.
The singer, who is in a relationship with Chiefs player Travis Kelce, has reportedly split from her girlfriend Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick.
But the pair appear to have put their differing political views aside and were spotted together at the US Open last weekend.
Mahomes has liked a number of Trump’s Instagram posts, leading to speculation that she supports the former president.
And she caused a stir on Instagram after liking a follower’s comment that said, “TRUMP-VANCE 2024.”
An NBC News poll in November found that 40% of registered voters had a favorable view of Swift, while 16% had an unfavorable view of Swift.
But Swift has a large fan base among young voters. In her endorsement of Harris, she also encouraged people to register to vote.
