Taylor Swift donates over 125K meals to Florida food bank ahead of The Eras Tour stop in Tampa

Taylor Swift continues to perform random acts of kindness along the way as she travels across the country for her highly anticipated The Eras Tour.

After quietly making donations to food banks in Arizona and Nevada, the pop star, 33, made another generous contribution to one in Florida ahead of her three-day concert series in Tampa.

Feeding Tampa Bay announced the news on their Instagram and expressed their gratitude for her gift, which will make a significant difference in their community.

Thank you @taylorswift for being a HERO and supporting Feeding Tampa Bay’s mission to end hunger by 2025! Your generosity puts more than 125,000 meals on the table!’ the organization captioned a photo of the Karma singer.

Under the post, Swift’s fans flocked to the comment section to applaud her for being an “incredible human being” and very humble.”

‘Wow! This is truly incredible,” another wrote as other Swifties affectionately dubbed her the “The People’s Princess” and “awesome.”

The 12-time Grammy Award winner, previously named Most Charitable Celebrity for the fourth year in 2015, has a reputation for helping those in need over the years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2020, the Maroon hitmaker made two generous donations of $13,000 each to two mothers, featured in an article drawing attention to the millions of Americans entering the holiday season unemployed and left behind on rent or utilities.

After discovering the GoFundMe fundraisers of Nashville-based single mom Nikki Cornwell and Shelbie Selewski, of Harrison Township, the artist did a series of incredible acts of kindness.

Nikki, I read about you in the Washington Post and thought it was very brave of you to share your story.

She continued, “I’m so sorry for everything you’ve had to go through this year and I wanted to send you this gift, from one Nashville girl to another. Love, Taylor.”

Cornwell, who has now raised more than $22,110 from 41 donors in just one day, described herself as a single mom “trying” to get her “feet back on the ground.”

“I’m the Nashville mom featured in the Washington Post story about people falling behind on rent and utilities. My water was turned off, but someone blessed me with that help,” she began, before revealing that her children “might not even have Christmas.”

Cornwell’s heartbreaking post op GoFundMe also described how she felt she was “drowning” after being unable to start a new job in May, after testing positive for COVID-19.

“My family would appreciate any help this holiday. I certainly pray for miracles. God bless everyone,” she wrote, before Swift stepped in to help.

As for the second recipient of Swift’s generosity, she chose Selewski, who lost her job in the spring and has to stay home with her daughter Vada, who was born with a collapsed lung.

Despite trying “tirelessly” to find another job and helping her then seven-year-old navigate her online classes, she said the process “has proven incredibly difficult.”

“We’ve sold everything we could sell and that’s always paid our bills as much as possible, but it feels like every day something else pops up,” she said.

Selewski added that she ‘never’ thought she’d have to make ‘a GoFundMe but’ one day with Christmas coming up,’ she didn’t know what else to do.’

Any donations received, she said, would be “used directly to keep her family’s lights on and rent them so they’re not turned off.”

In response, Swift donated $13,000 dollars and revealed that she had read about her situation in the Washington Post.

“No one should feel the stress that has been placed on you. I hope you and your beautiful family have a happy holiday season,” she wrote on Selewski’s page.

Her charitable donations continued, a week after one of the star’s fans put on an amazing Christmas show with her 2019 Christmas song, Christmas Tree Farm.

Sarah Bailey shared videos of her family’s fully furnished home, including a box for people to donate non-perishables to a food bank and letters to Santa.

“This year has been tough, but this is something we can all safely enjoy from the comfort of our cars, or from the sidewalk for an up close experience! I hope this brings you as much joy as we do in this crazy 2020,” the Swiftie wrote.

Her images caught the attention of Swift, who sent her a heartfelt message via Instagram.

‘Sarah! Loved your family’s Christmas light show!!! Thank you so much (and your dad) for using ‘Christmas Tree Farm’ to create such a fun spectacle. I love that you chose to give back by mentioning your local food bank,” she said.

Swift continued, “I made a donation to Our Community Hunger Center in your hometown. Happy Holidays! Love, Taylor.”
