It appears Taylor Swift broke the $12,000 vintage ring she wore to the MTV VMAs. Video footage shows the moment an entire search party gathered in the hope of finding the missing piece.
It’s unclear exactly what happened, but the video shows a mortified Taylor holding up the vintage accessory – with the huge diamond in the center of the ring missing.
This led to several guests, VMA staffers and Taylor, 33, himself scouring the area in hopes of finding the gem.
The results of their efforts remain unknown, but unfortunately for Taylor, she wasn’t pictured with the ring for the rest of the night.

She was also noticeably ringless when she attended a VMA after-party later that night.

Fiasco aside, it was an incredible night overall for Taylor.
The singer made history when she won in nine of the 11 categories in which she was nominated – including Artist of the Year – at the annual event, which was held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Taylor won Album of the Year for Midnights and Show of the Summer, and also took home six awards for the video and track for Anti-Hero.
They include Video of the Year; Best Cinematography; Best Visual Effects; Best direction, best pop; and Song of the Year.

It’s been fourteen years since Taylor won her first VMA for Best Video by a Female Artist for You Belong with Me (and her acceptance speech was infamously interrupted by Kanye West.)
On Tuesday, Swift told the audience as she accepted the Best Pop award for Anti-Hero: “I love making pop music, I love making pop music videos, I love making country too.
“I love dabbling between different genres and the only reason I get to do that is because you, the fans, gave me the opportunity to do so.”
She added, “One big adventure and it’s all so much to challenge myself to make music that’s different from what I’ve made last, and I just love you. But I really love making pop music, so thank you very much.”

Swift won her second Song of the Year award for Anti-Hero.

“But then when I go on tour, I see stadiums singing the words back to me.”
She added: ‘It brings me to this very relaxing feeling that maybe we all have the same problems, so thank you so much to the fans, I love you so much, this means the world to me. Thank you!’
Swift took home her third award of the night for Best Director for directing the video for her hit Anti-Hero.

Swift thanked her editors, cinematographer and director of photography, as well as the actors in the video, adding, “You played the roles absolutely perfectly.”
Swift won her fourth award during the telecast for Video of the Year for Anti-Hero.
“This is incredible – I just want to say that the fact that this is a fan-voted award means so much to me,” she said. “Based on the memories we’ve made recently, the most joyful and exciting experience, and we’re not even half way there yet.
