Andy Reid gave his take on why Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce work together as a couple. The Chiefs coach explained that the relationship is an “escape” for both of them.
Since they first started dating publicly last fall, Swift and Kelce have been regulars at each other’s games and concerts. Reid thinks they both enjoy staying in the background sometimes.
“He can handle it. I think there’s a great escape for him,” Reid began on The Athletic’s “Scoop City” podcast.
“That’s what I said about Taylor. I mean, when she comes to the game, she can kind of escape from the show. And when he goes to her concerts, she’s the star and he can hang out there and be the support or the water boy.”
Travis followed Taylor around Europe this off-season on her Eras Tour, with the Chiefs tight end even standing next to her on stage at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Andy Reid has claimed that Kelce and Swift’s relationship is an ‘escape’ for both of them
At a celebrity golf tournament near Lake Tahoe, Nevada, he was asked if he would like to appear on stage again, but he chose to hold back.
“I can’t leave anything out of the bag,” Kelce said of the American Century Championship. “But now after golf I’m in full football mode.”
While Kelce won’t be joining Swift on stage for a while, he did discuss his cameo on a recent episode of his podcast, New Heights.
“It’s not my thing at all,” Kelce told his brother Jason. “I’m not big, I don’t like going on stage. There were a lot of people there, I just didn’t feel at home.”
He also explained how the performance came about.
Swift was also a regular at Kelce’s games last season, when the two kissed during the Super Bowl
“I initially said to Tay, ‘How funny would it be if I just rode one of the bikes in the 1989 race? [set]’?
Meanwhile, Swift became a Chiefs fan after she and Kelce started dating.
Last season she attended no fewer than 13 games, including the Super Bowl in which Kansas City once again became NFL champions.
Kelce, 34, returns to the Chiefs for his 12th season after signing a new two-year, $34.25 million contract this offseason.
There had previously been speculation that he would hang up his boots due to his high-profile relationship with Swift and the fact that his brother Jason, 36, retired after a stellar career with the Eagles.
