Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes quell fears of a rift after Donald Trump post controversy as they reunite in Rhode Island

Any speculation about a feud between Taylor Swift and her best friend Brittany Mahomes was quickly quashed on Saturday — less than 24 hours after the Chiefs quarterback’s wife caused a stir online.

Brittany, who has been married to Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes since 2022, caused a liberal meltdown on Friday when she liked a social media post by Donald Trump.

The pregnant mother of two responded strongly to her critics, but many social media users feared what the controversy could mean for her budding friendship with Taylor.

The pop star, who formed a close bond with Brittany during her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Chiefs games this past NFL season, has publicly expressed his disdain for Trump in the past and voted for his former rival Joe Biden.

Fans wondered if the political controversy would be big enough to derail their newfound friendship on the eve of the new NFL season.

However, it appears their friendship is strong enough to withstand Brittany’s new reputation as the Mahomeses join the Anti-Hero Assassin and Kelce in Rhode Island.

With her European tour now behind her and the NFL season approaching, Taylor and Travis are making the most of their time off with a much-needed romantic reunion – but only for ‘two weeks’, DailyMail.com can reveal.

The power couple is back together for an end-of-summer getaway. Today, we spotted them on the balcony of the singer’s impressive Rhode Island mansion.

The $17 million vacation home gained celebrity status after it became the site of Taylor’s legendary, star-studded Independence Day parties.

Taylor has returned to her iconic vacation home for the first time this summer – now with her boyfriend in tow. And it looks like their friends and family – including Patrick – have joined them.

Patrick and Brittany enjoyed the sun before the start of the season – the quarterback and tight end have endured a difficult pre-season with three straight losses.

Taylor and Travis were filmed crowding around Bronze, the Mahomeses’ youngest son, as his Super Bowl-winning father held him on the balcony of the luxury vacation home.

Travis’ brother Jason and sister-in-law Kylie have joined the Chiefs star cast along with their children, with the latter still enjoying his first off-season post-retirement and ahead of his new TV role with Amazon Prime, which begins next month.

Although Brittany wasn’t pictured with her husband and friends, it’s expected she was there too.

Observant Instagram users noticed the expectant mother of three liking a post from Trump, in which she outlined 16 of Trump’s policies to his 26.3 million followers, ranging from immigration to the economy.

The like sparked outrage among liberals on social media, and Brittany responded strongly to her critics.

“Honestly, if you are a hater as an adult you must have deep rooted issues that you are not willing to heal as a child,” she wrote Friday night.

“There’s no reason why your brain should be fully developed and you should be upset to see others doing well,” she added.

After Brittany’s like came to light, rumors swirled that Swift — a well-known liberal who publicly accused Trump of “stoking white supremacy” in 2020 — would fire her fellow Chiefs WAG.

Someone wrote on X: ‘Well, it looks like Brittany can forget about being in the skyboxes with Taylor Swift from now on. That could really put a strain on their tik tok relationship.’

Another wrote: ‘This season is going to be awkward in the stadium suites with Brittany and Taylor Swift.’

While someone joked, “Brittany Mahomes…Taylor Swift is never coming back to you.”

However, it looks like Brittany isn’t hearing any bad things about her social media activities from her famous friend, as the singer seems to be handling it well.

Brittany isn’t the only NFL personality who may be supporting Trump, as the former president was spotted with two Raiders players on Friday.

Former NFL running back Herschel Walker, best known for his playing days with the Dallas Cowboys in the mid-to-late 1980s, is also a Trump fan. Walker co-chaired the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition during the Trump administration.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa were also criticized in March for appearing with Trump at UFC 299.

Brittany, who has been criticized in the past by the NFL fan community for her outspoken views, was praised for her actions, as she was in Trump’s post, by the former president’s supporters on X.

However, she also received criticism from Democratic-leaning voters.
