Taylor Swift reportedly took a break from her blockbuster Eras tour last week to shoot a music video in the UK with actress Joey King.
The 33-year-old hitmaker and 23-year-old film and television star were spotted in Liverpool, The sun reported Saturday.
The two were seen on set in St. George’s Hall and the Cunard Building, according to the outlet, which reported shortly before the news that Taylor had split from her boyfriend Joe Alwyn.
It is not yet clear what role Joey plays in the video.
A source with knowledge of the production revealed that Taylor’s video was inspired by the Robert Pattinson superhero film The Batman, which the singer was reportedly a fan of.
Collaboration: Taylor Swift, 33, and Joey King, 23, reportedly filmed a music video in Liverpool this weekend, a source told The Sun. The video was reportedly inspired by Robert Pattinson, starring in The Batman
“Taylor loves the history of the sights and was thrilled to film somewhere completely different and unexpected,” the source said.
It was a reunion of sorts for the two stars, as Joey had previously appeared as a child in Taylor’s 2010 video for her single Mean.
“Taylor loves a throwback and is excited to celebrate Joey as her acting career has blossomed,” said the source.
The shoot worked for the busy musician, as she had a short vacation from performing in packed stadiums.
She was on a break in her tour schedule, so she decided to use the time to get another video in the bag. She feels more creative and inspired than ever,” the source continued.
There’s no word yet on which song Taylor is shooting a music video for and whether it’s from her latest album Midnights or an upcoming release.
Lucky for her, the video seems to have gone off without a hitch, which was helped by making sure crew members weren’t distracted by her celebrity.
Her shoot was an incredibly slick operation, with little fuss. Staff on site were politely asked not to carry their phones and to sign non-disclosure agreements,” the source said.
It’s not clear if the video’s Batman theme will feature Taylor or Joey dressing up as a caped crusader.
Joey recently starred opposite Brad Pitt in the blockbuster action movie Bullet Train, as well as the historical action comedy The Princess, which received mixed reviews and was quickly forgotten.
It’s unlikely Taylor spent the Easter break with her boyfriend Joe Alwyn, as the two reportedly went their separate ways over the weekend.
A source close to the favorite actor revealed exclusively to DailyMail.com that career differences were the cause of the breakup.
The bottom line for the problems in their relationship was that Taylor’s career took precedence over Joe’s — which can be tricky for a couple if it’s unbalanced. This drove them apart and eventually they both realized they weren’t on the same wavelength anymore,” the source said, noting that Joe had struggled to land high-profile roles in recent years.

Hard at work: “She had a break in her tour schedule, so she decided to use the time to pocket another video. She feels more creative and inspired than ever,” the source continued; seen March 31 in Arlington, Texas
Happier times: Taylor also reportedly broke up with her beau Joe Alwyn weeks earlier over the weekend. A source told DailyMail.com that their relationship put a strain on his career; photo 2020
“It’s been hard for Joe to make it in Hollywood and not really become leading material while dating one of the most famous women in the world for the past six years.”
The two had a firmer footing at the height of the still-ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but once things “went back to normal,” Taylor Swift emerged the superstar, and their differences were even more apparent.
“They really tried and tried everything they could, but in the end they couldn’t save the relationship.
The two would have split weeks earlier and the break would have been amicable
