Tayla Barber killed after car crashes into tree in Shepparton, Victoria
A teenager has tragically died after crashing into a tree just days before she was due to complete her final Year 12 exams.
Tayla Barber, 18, was driving alone when she crashed on the Euroa-Mansfield Road in Shepparton, northern Victoria, last Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and airlifted Ms Barber to hospital, but she could not be saved.
The teenager was in her final year at Notre Dame College in Shepparton and was due to complete her final VCE exams this week.
The college has since paid tribute to the student remembered as a ‘confident, respectful and kind-hearted young woman’.

“She was a confident, respectful and kind-hearted young woman who never hesitated to express her thoughts and feelings out loud,” the college wrote.
“She always considered the feelings of those closest to her and valued her relationships with others.
“Her sudden and unexpected death has left us heartbroken at a time of celebration and achievement for our Year 12 graduates.
“We extend our deepest condolences to Tayla’s family and friends at this time, she will be truly missed.”
Family members have also paid tribute to the student.
‘It has been a blessing to watch her grow in confidence and maturity. She was an honest, kind, helpful and beautiful young woman who took care of all her friends,” one person wrote.
“I am grateful to have seen her smiling face almost every day for the past six years. A very mature, sincere, respectful and compassionate person. Tayla will really miss you,” said another.
Victoria Police are investigating the cause of the crash and say the circumstances surrounding the accident have yet to be determined.
